It's pretty obvious he was kidding... It's annoying when you take something that someone obviously says with sarcasm or exageration and then try to turn it into something.

Pete Carroll stated that JS could be the next Tom Brady??? They made mention of this on ESPN... And I heard on a radio that a source close to USC believes Pete did this b/c he is trying to put the full court press on...b/c he believes UT has really gotten to JS

IMO, Carroll knows that if Jesse comes to UT it could be the start of a pipeline for the Vols and you could see even more of these elite LA kids head east.Even if Florida got him it wouldn't be as big because they can basically build a winner with in-state talent and would not likely take as many recruits from Cali as UT would,thus Florida is not as big a threat as Tennessee.Carroll knows what's getting ready to happen in Knoxville, it's going to blow up and in the next several years we will be picking only the best of the bunch sort of like how SC does now.If he can delay the Vols from getting into his backyard he's going to do whatever it takes, even saying Jesse is the next Tom Brady.

living in california, he is a short ways away from absolutely stunning scenery that knoxville just doesn't have, aside from the smokies, cuz that's just about it as far as scenery in tennessee.

I moved to Riverside, CA (45 min east of LA) over a year ago, so I know what's out here. Thanks for the lecture, though.

I didn't say there weren't nice places to go and see out here, but the hills of E. Tennessee are something all together different.

Every interview that I've seen with Scroggins, he's alwayss come through speaking very intelligent and proper, using good dialect, demonstrating verbal skills and just plain smart. With reading him this way, I think he is a highly intelligent, skill motivated person. In summary: He's too smart to be taken in by P.C. and "he is the next Tom Brady" notion. If P.C.did say that and J.S. commits to USC, then he WILL be "the next T.B." The kid just comes over as too smart to fall for line of B.S. He will beat Barkley out of his job if he goes to USC. Tom Brady sat the bench for 3 years at Michigan before he became the starter. That's likely what Scroggins would do at USC.

Maybe there is something to this comparison after all. :crazy:
