It is sounding better, but the people on the USC boards all believe he is a Trojan. Not sure how anyone could've thought otherwise. Go to usc.scout.com and read their free board...

i know that we havent got him yet, but 2 days ago i thought we were done for sure. they must have got a dang good impression on that boy to have him even consider to come east away from his family and favorite school when it seemed so certain that he was staying in CA

I think something is up with Rettig not committing already. If rettig doesn't commit before scroggins I like our chances.

There's no way he goes any where else. He could have easily redirected the answers to fit his true feelings. He could have mentioned UT tradition, and then talked about USC's. He could have discussed UT's fans and then talk about UF's fan ase from his visit. He knows and we all know he was not received at USC or UF like he was here at UT. The rock like he said was "fantastic", he'll e a Vol, it's just convincing his family that's what's best for HIM.

Remember this Scroggins quote?

The SEC could help UT. Scroggins said the SEC's reputation will be a "big factor" in his recruitment.

"SEC football is, I think personally, the best conference," Scroggins said. "All the great athletes go to the SEC. All the great schools are in the SEC."

The interviewer led him to talk about tennessee. Only thing that made me feel good about the interview is how he said he wanted to go somewhere with tradition.

yeah kudos to the VN rock-painters. Specifically called out by Jesse Scroggins. The interviewer didn't mention the rock so Scroggins definitely has that in his head. Even if he doesn't commit to UT, that is a memory he'll have forever...

You are correct about SC having a strong tradition. Florida, however, does not. The first thing out of his mouth is he's looking for a school with strong tradition. Without question, this eliminates the Gators. It's down to two, my friends.

Tradition to a 17 year old. Is what happened last year and today. 10 years ago is ancient history. He actually said something about wanting a school that is always up or something kind made me think ah oh.
