It's strange to me that he mentions secondary violations yet ignores the recent legal troubles at Florida. Now granted we don't have much room to criticize over the last 5 years, but under Kiffin things seem to be completely different. Discipline is being instilled and it seems to be working. Hopefully it continues to be this way.

Obviously someone is negative recruiting (Urban) and someone else isn't (Lane).

That's what they were saying on the sports monster this morning. It's funny how he mentioned the few secondary violations when talking about UT which is really no be deal, but didn't mention the 24 arrest Florida has had. Sounds like his Dad talking and not him.

One of the guys on the sports monster said he fully expects Scroggins to commit to Florida. He said he was basing that on the way he keeps talking about how Meyer changes his offense for his QBs like he did from Leak to Tebow. We all know that is a bunch of BS since Brantley and Forcier are waiting next in line and they are both dual threat QBs, but we know how a mind of a 17 year old works and we all know Meyer is a snake.

I said that to a Gator fan here at work and he said "you'll have to prove to me that Urban does that."

So I guess Scroggins just came up with that on his own.

Yeah its obvious that he wants to come here but his family is pushing him toward USC. Its really sad to see parents trying to put their interests before their kids. Ya know Jesse's dad can get ESPN gameplan and he can watch every game. If Jesse comes here he will start the first game of 2010 and if he goes to USC he may start by 2012 and thats being optimistic.

I know parents of former players that played at Tennessee. I know those parents that could not afford to come to the games and I know parents who could afford to come to the games.

I can say in both cases it was an EXTREME hardship on the families. I saw the suffering of those that could not afford to come. I saw those that had to spend all night Friday travling to arrive at 10:00 AM on game day to see their son play.

It is a very tough thing on the families. Either way so I can totally understand families wanting their sons to play close to home.

A "chance" to make NFL can't even make the top list for over 90% of the kids recruited as a reason to go 2000 miles to play. Less than 10% of the D-1 signees each year will get drafted.

While it's possible that Jesse has come up with this opinion on his own...I don't think so. He seems to be buying everything Urban is selling...remember, we 'just don't understand' the situation with regard to UF. Urban is in his ear like a tick on a dog.

Thank you - you've put a more personal spin on a point I've been trying to make...it isn't an easy thing for a parent to send their child that far away when there are obviously no guarantees it will even put them in a better position career wise. It doesn't mean that they won't decide that UT is the best option...but people should stop pretending that it is easy.

I dont really see him at UF, but I think the last thing CUM wants is him at UT. Especially Kiffin getting him. If anything CUM is trying to sabotage UT and Kiffin.

Yup...without a doubt. Urban doesn't need him and doesn't have to get him in order to win this recruiting battle...as long as UT doesn't get him...

Is it just me, or wasn't one of the big things when Urban got Florida that Chris Leak did not fit into Meyer's offense? He still ran his offense, but Leak wasn't adept at runing that style hence the use of Tebow. I feel pretty sure that had Tebow been a Sophmore, he would have started that year and Leak would have been riding the pine. So I'm left asking this: if Scroggins does commit to UF what's he going to do when Urban recruits another "linebacker"?

UF paranoia is deep in here. Don't think Urban would waste a scholly just to damage our program. Jesse is a fantastic prospect and is worth their effort.

Not afraid of UF. We'll beat them on the field and in recruiting. Bring em on.

This is a very good point.

I'm not paranoid. But don't think Urban wouldn't like to get one up on Lane! Jesse is a good prospect.

Why couldn't he, especially just to piss Lane off?? Lane took Nuke, so is Urby taking Scroggins the payback??

Common sense enters the room.

As much as I hate to admit it, I just don't feel like Scroggins will commit to us and choose to stay close to home. I don't think that he sees depth as that much of an issue, and he may very well be using Matt Cassel as an example. While playing time and exposure plays a HUGE role in NFL scouting, a coach's connections play a big part as well in getting a player attention, and we all know that CPC is obviously very well connected. While the jury is still out Cassel, the fact remains that he will be playing on Sunday.

Watched Jesse's video and his interview. First time I have heard Jesse speak. Dion Bailey will be a major influence on this kids decision. Obviously his family will be a major role too. Seems like a nice kid, not the most articulate (but who cares).

His vids of the scrimmage in the inter view vid were awesome. This kid is smooth as silk. He will be an awesome player
