I second that. He'll be a Vol, he's just waiting to do it when there is a significant event like the Elite11. I'd do it the same way. He's obviously made up his mind. Could be a ïn your face to USC for waiting on him so long.

Rodney Petey was pretty good....but he played......

back in the late 80's I think...

Think that was the last african american qb Southern Cal had.

I know the first one they had back when Sam Bam Cinningham was there, they played Bear Bryant (before he had any blacks on the team) and kicked the sheeot of of them. Next year or two Bear went and got him a few. Can't recall the guys name right now though.

I really have no clue what this guy is going to do. He will prob change his mind twice before the end of July. USC might wear off of him in the end and then reality will set in. Do you want to play football or be on a team near home? He seems like a pretty rational kid who wouldnt be happy chillin on the bench for all of his college years.

could not have said it better myself. The sooner he picks, the worse we are.

He is high on SC right now and we need time to let that visit cool on him.

that is possible.. but when a guy is on the fence, i would say 8 times out of 10 he is gonna stick close to home.. with a team he grew up watching.

I care more about where he SIGNS in February than where he commits in July....

At the end of the day, our best recruiting tool will not come from the Rock but rather how well we play this season..

If he commits to USC in July then he will not be signing here in February. So I do care more about where he commits in July - because we have 0% shot to get him if he doesn't commit to us in a few weeks.

USC could potentially sway him back being the close to home school if he were to verbal to us - won't happen the other way around though.

That obviously seems to make sense and all, but I think you sound a little too confident given the fact that we are still talking about a 17/18 year old kid that neither you nor I know in an arena as crazy as college recruiting.... I assure you that Lane will not side with you if he does commit to USC in July...
