Boyd had a torn ACL and is of completely different breed of QB. Scroggins plays QB and uses his legs. Boyd plays in the spread...Spread Wr/RB/QBs are completely unpredictable at the next level.

Not only is he not a pure pocket passer - Corch Kiffin and Ed said they held off in order to get the best qb for this season's recruiting class. Not a great qb stock this season...so maybe UT could hold off another season...

For the '09 season, we're doing what the Fins did with their QB problem. We'll snap it to Brown. :)

There is a chance we don't get a big name guy this year.

Ok - I went and watched a bit of his highlights...

He not a true Dual T kinda qb - so I was misinformed.

Looks good, didn't seem to get rattled to easy back there.

Looks like Scroggins is suggesting Southern Cal as a favorite.

Of course, Scroggins must be aware of Barkley there...so that might make choosing them a bit difficult one would think.

It seems he has cooled down since USC camp. I hope this is true longer he thinks more he will lean back to UT.

Yeah, that's attractive at Tennessee, the depth chart is something you have to think about anywhere, and they obviously need to sign a quarterback in this class," Scroggins said of Tennessee. "But that's not the only thing I'm looking at there. I liked the campus and everything about the program. Plus the coaches are great.

I second that. He'll be a Vol, he's just waiting to do it when there is a significant event like the Elite11. I'd do it the same way. He's obviously made up his mind. Could be a ïn your face to USC for waiting on him so long.
