corp is a stud. unless he sucks balls in actual games there is no way carroll benches him for a true freshman. carroll promised barklay he would compete for the starting job and is keeping his promise.

Whether he commits or not, what makes me happy is the simple fact that we are actually COMPETING with schools like SC for top talent!! That shows me we are on the right track! We'll get our qb. We may not get exactly who we wanted but starting next year and the next year, we'll get top flight qb's.

Anybody heard about 2010 QB Jeremy Cannon (Concord, NC)? ESPNU said he performed well at the USC camp and thats the first time I have heard about him. Says he is considering Tennessee and I'm sure we haven't offered yet. He's 6'2" 190 lbs only has grade of 40 right now, but could be somewhat of a sleeper because he didn't play last year due to an ACL injury. Didn't mean to hijack the JS thread but I can't post a new thread yet....which I think is dumb, but oh well, not my decision. Anyways just thought I would throw his name out there.

If you are a big time WR or OL do you want to commit to a team that hasnt signed an exciting QB in two years. The name IMO is as important to recruiting offensive players as the potential. Right now, potential offensive recruits have nothing to base their decision to come to UT on.

Anyway, for the rest of us who can add those extremely hard numbers up to 100, I think that USC is probably around 40%, UT at 40%, and then UF at 20%.

I have no idea why he'd want to go to SC except for the California women, and the weather. He won't play.

UT has some nice women as well ;)

Maybe cause he's lived like 20 miles from USC his whole life. Which could work or go either way for us. He's gonna be a Vol, but you can't be threatened or rushed by the recruiting process. He's making sure all angles are covered.

He will not see the field behind Barkley at SC unless he redshirts. Even then, he may have one year of eligibility. I don't think the UF offense is suited for him. He should ultimately pick UT because he can get playing time next season and pretty much lock the qb position down for the next 4 years. I am sure he is skeptical about our offense because no one has seen it on the field.
