Which school will Scroggins verbally commit to tomorrow?

He's still undecided. Sounds like his parents have given him their blessing to make his own choice whether that's TN, USC or FL. From where I sit it looks like the west coast is in the lead...

I bet Pete and CUM both told Jesse that he will see fierce competition here too, AFTER he commits...that we were/are just holding the door open for him first.
To a degree, that's true. I think Rettig gets offered regardless, but the major difference is USC and UF QB's are clearly ahead of him, and he'd likely sit for 2-3yrs

Not really...I would expect Rettig to seriously challenge him for the starting spot anyway. Lamaison and Rettig puts us in pretty good shape until the 2011 prospects.
Rettig has all the tools you look for, and he was among the 3 QB's at USC's camp, so that puts him in good company

There were only 6 QBs, and he was #3.

I'm not sure if I'd call that good really.

Let me recap my day!

1. Couldn't sleep last night
2. Get to work and get chewed by my shift coordinator about a mistake that HE made
3. Michael Jackson passes away. ( yes, I was actually pretty sad..)
4. Rumor going around that Scroggins wants to commit to USC..

Not right now...but assuming he has a good season at his new school, his stock will take off really fast...plenty of time to get in with most elite offensive skill players and OL.

My preference would be both Scroggins and Rettig, but I still think Rettig could very well be the better Pro prospect, when all is said and done.

ehh. sometimes things dont go your way.. what can you do?

jmva.. is it odd that we haven't had any commits yet after last weekends camp..

I've heard several guys say they expected 4 or 5 this week.. and we got none..

While it may be a little odd, i don't think it is overly out of the ordinary. The way our staff recruits, we shoot for the best players, and a lot of the top shelf guys that we are really after (a lot of whom attended camp) will not make their final decision at any camp.

Wow. I really don't know what to say. Let's not all kid ourselves. This would be a huge deal and a monumental loss. And I know there are some that will say it's not a big deal and we will just take so and so, but seriously this was UT's last shot at an elite QB up to this point. Big loss if he goes to USC.

With this recruiting staff and the selling points that UT had to offer a QB it is shocking that they can't get a blue chip commit.

I feel like I just got kicked in the balls.

Me too. Hopefully he'll sleep on it and wake up tomorrow realizing the opportunity he will have at the University of Tennessee.

That's how I felt when I read the news that Kiffin told Boyd to look elsewhere.
