Except if he doesn't qualify you have wasted one of the restricted LOI's that's now in effect on a position where there's solid depth and typically a plethora of good backs every year to recruit.

Imo, Scroggins is a silent. Coach K tells him it would help the program if he takes his usc visit then chooses the Vols to show that he visited the best and in his opinion the Vols ar the best. Boom baby Boom Boom.

Hubbs on if Scroggins is waiting for UT to offer his cousin:

I don't know where this entire notion came from, but that is not true at all. Scroggins' college choice has nothing to do with his cousin at all. I know the family is bothered by this rumor that continues to float around message boards.

as far as scroggins USC updates go, i sent Pete Carroll an @ reply on twitter asking him if he will say how people did at camp without naming names....i mean its worth a try!

So what does Scroggins do Sab?

Does he decide to basically be the savior at a once prominent program...a high profile SEC school where he can play immediately or be groomed to take over in 2011...

Or does he stay close to home and sign with his childhood favorite...a place where he'll likely ride the pine behind Corp and Barkley until he decides to transfer?

I think we have the best shot out of his top 3. There's a lot of time between now and when he says he plans to announce, but I think he's already made his decision.

I'll tell it to you like I told Eric, (he thinks he commits to USC) this kid wants to play. He doesn't want to sit. The depth chart is going to be huge for him.

Jesse will likely get that scholly offer from USC . He will have to think long and hard on where he wants to go. I hope it's here

He already knew the USC offer was a possibility. I'd think he had already given USC plenty of thought.

This opportunity (to play early for the Vols) is just too much to pass up. I know I wouldn't want to sit around and waste behind Barkley and all those other 5 star QB's.

Tennessee will be his destination. I like the idea that he gets an offer from USC and chooses the Vols over them. Hopefully he decides soon so other big name offensive players will commit as well!

I think he knew he had a USC offer waiting on him when he gets to camp. Them actually offering changes nothing. I think he made his decision on his visit to Knoxville, but wants to think through all of his choices again to make sure.

MAYBE just maybe CLK has him going to the USC camp to help recruit!!!!
I am kidding but it sure would be nice especially since so many thought Luc was doing it when he was here.

Lakewood (Calif.) High's Jesse Scroggins is the highest-ranked quarterback who has yet to make a commitment, and this is a big week for him. He is expected to receive an offer out of USC's camp this week, and this looks like a three-way battle between the Trojans, Florida and Tennessee.

Scroggins would like to wait until late July to make his decision, which could mean a return trip to Florida for Friday Night Lights, but it's doubtful he'll be able to wait that long. If USC does indeed offer and he has serious interest in the Trojans, it's unlikely Pete Carroll and his staff will wait that long for a decision, especially if they offer another quarterback after the camp.

Pete Carroll might have good things to say about Kiffin but in no way will he push him towards Tennessee..

He will still be giving his all to pull Scroggins to USC..

I had posted this earlier on this thread, but no one really said anything. But now that it has been brought up again, here it is:
I have a quick question. I know that the media portrays Pete Carroll and Lane Kiffin as having a good relationship, but does anybody think that Carroll could use that relationship to his advantage? If he really wanted Jesse, he could pretty much make Lane look like a fool and tell Jesse that he needs to come play for the best at USC. I really haven't followed Carroll in recruiting, but he really could use negative recruiting tactics to his advantage and have an extreme upper hand over Kiffin.
