There are CERTAINLY some amazing quote in this article that should give us hope. For instance:

“It’s more like a family feeling,” Scroggins said. “It felt like I already knew them (UT fans) but I didn’t know them. Everything felt good.”

“I came here and my name was on this big rock,” Scroggins said with a wide smile. “That’s very impressive. I felt welcome, very welcome.”

“This process is almost over,” Scroggins said. “(They) kind of waited.” (talking about USC)

“This is my mother’s home state. That gave them (the Vols) an advantage a little but I have not committed yet.”

I think this hopeful. Also, I like how his cousin say they would really like to play together and "he hopes Tennessee can make that happen." sounds like his cousin may know something. It almost sounded like Jesse was going to be at TN and he hoped TN offered him too.

I also like how he says "I haven't committed YET"

It's looking better every day.

Everything in that article was slanted the Vols way. But those are the quotes he gave and they are the best I have seen him give any school up to this point.

The YET comment was great. And the comment about how he will probably commit next week and the process is almost over.

Reading this and reading between the lines I would say UT has its QB!

Don't get your hopes up just yet. Yes it does look good....but it's not over until it's over. I do hope we get him though...it'll be nice to remember if the QB's suck this year.

Orange Swarm...I don't think that we can say enough thanks for painting the rock...I am often surprised at how much the recruits love that...but they really do seem to like it (thinking back to Nuke and his picture with his aunts ... and now Scroggins' comments...who knows how much it helped in getting Brown :) ).

I think that singling out the recruit we want most when several in town is quite effective. It may not get a commitment, but it makes them feel welcome, which is an important step towards a commitment.

Not to be Debbie Downer but sounds like Scroggins has not committed as of yet. It does hint that we have taken a lead for his services, but I already thought we were a leader with Florida and USC. Anyway, Jerry Anderson the WR (his cousin) at camp this weekend. Sounds like Scroggins' recruitment/commitment may hinge on how we handle his cousin...lovely. Let's just hope and pray that Anderson is not the weakest link and we can pull Scroggins.

He did comment on seeing the rock! Props for the few that worked on that the past few days!

I've heard this before (Chris Leak, JeRon Stokes, etc.) - a good prospect trying to help out a family member. I don't blame him for trying, but the coaches need to handle that situation carefully. I hope Scroggins won't make this a package deal. He even said that he hasn't seen his cousin in 4 years, so hopefully it's not a big deal.

I really don't think so but if some other big college offers him/his cuz, that Scroggins has interest in then it might get interesting!

Is it just me or does it sound like he was talking about his recruitment in past tense, like it was already over and he made up his mind? It sounds/looks very promising for the Vols, i'd expect a commitment within the next two weeks.

It's sounding very good right now. He took a shot at USC, and it doesn't seem like he is to interested in Uf. I think he is Tenns to lose.

Don't forget OhioVol! He was the one that painted the rock in the wee hours of the day Scroggins showed up on campus. original credit goes to Orange Swarm but a sorority girl messed it up with some bday greeting. Thanks swarm and OhioVol!!!
