A commitment coming out of this weekend would be huge - I can't imagine the coaches would ask him to sit on it long, though...so if it actually happened, we should be hearing by tonight or tomorrow you would think.

If we didn't get a commitment, hopefully we made a good enough impression to get his commitment in the next few weeks. Talk about getting this class rolling...

Yea, supposedly Scroggins was seen hugging the staff after NYC posted that. I was just putting what NYC had said about the Vols feeling confident cuz the guy wanted some more reliable info. It doesn't get more reliable than NYC. For him to say that just 3 hours before this rumor started is a very good sign...

I really really hope this is true(that he is a vol)!!! Trying not to get my hopes up because im trying to read into this to much.. If he is then gigidy gigidy gooo alllllrigggghhtt

If the rumor is in fact true I'd think the coaches would want to get it out and into the news as soon as possible. If there's a kid at camp who is considering us if we got a good QB, he's more likely to make a commitment a couple of hours after he leaves camp than rather waiting a couple of days and then deciding if we were to keep it on the down low.

I think if the rumor's true we'll hear about it pretty soon.

I don't want to be a bubble buster, BUT this is speculation on NYC's part. NYC is really reliable, but hugging the coaches doesn't mean anything really. I mean, come on, did he give the secret commit handshake?? Let's see if he goes to USC's camp. If he doesn't, then our situation has changed for sure.

If he actually committed, then I think that we will hear about it before he is due to make it to USC's camp.

Agreed Eric. Maybe we hurt him enough to where he doesn't go to USC's camp, they can't offer him a scholly, he signs with us, and boom, here comes the O commits.

No, I don't hope he's seriously that hurt. But I do also know that having a big hugging lovefest is not a thing that most men like to do unless it's like a big deal. So who knows what's going to happen? We will hear a decision soon enough. Be patient Nation.

Jesse Scroggins didnt work out too much apparently, but I heard he and his parents were getting the royal treatment. Tennessee is really putting a lot of eggs in that basket, but word is after this weekend is that they feel confident. Now that does not mean anything is done, but Tennessee likes its chances right now.

Sorry bout that, Lord Vader's listing of what people said kinda screwed me up. Still though, even if he hugged the coaches and did a little dance with them it doesn't mean anything until the LOI is signed.

I know some people have said we have about a 40% chance at him... Does anyone think just from this report that the percentage has gone up??

Not to be Debbie Downer but sounds like Scroggins has not committed as of yet. It does hint that we have taken a lead for his services, but I already thought we were a leader with Florida and USC. Anyway, Jerry Anderson the WR (his cousin) at camp this weekend. Sounds like Scroggins' recruitment/commitment may hinge on how we handle his cousin...lovely. Let's just hope and pray that Anderson is not the weakest link and we can pull Scroggins.

He did comment on seeing the rock! Props for the few that worked on that the past few days!

Sounds like it is almost over! Come home to Rocky Top!!!

Scroggins certainly felt at home when he saw “The Rock” painted orange and white with “Scroggins = T Championships”. “The Rock” is a minivan-sized stone close to the athletic complex that is often painted with university-related messages.

“I came here and my name was on this big rock,” Scroggins said with a wide smile. “That’s very impressive. I felt welcome, very welcome.”

I would offer his cousin immediately. I don't care if you normally wouldn't, but Ole Miss has offered and he is at 6-4, so to me it is worth the gamble.
