the guy has been running the spread with great success for many many years. i very much doubt he is going to change just so his qbs are more draftable.

hey guys, i was just browsing jesse's name on google and came up on this lil chat. I grew up playing with him, this kids work ethic is amazing. Always the first to come last to leave type of guy. Smart kid too. My best friend played center for their high school team and said scroggins is looking mainly at Florida, Tennessee and usc. when i see him next ill ask him whats up on the whole situation to give you guys a heads up.

yah from what i heard he just wants to play. but he doesnt mind if he has to battle it out like he would at usc. Just throwing it out there im a usc fan. haha. But honestly i hope he does go to tenn or somewhere a qb is needed. With usc it doesnt matter how good you are you will disappear for 2 or 3 years then reemerge. Oh and yah he does have family out there in tenn.

By all accounts of the rankings, he is top 3 in this year's class on the West Coast. In almost every ranking, Montana is ranked 3rd on the West Coast. Actually, better yet, who IS ranked above him other than Heaps and Scroggins? Thomas? Nope. Nottingham? Unproven at this point.

And if he was really as bad as you guys claimed, there was no reason for Ohio State and Notre Dame to concentrate as much energy as they did.

Responding to the move from De Le salle. You do realize that Le Salle runs a spread offense right? I don't have the source off the top of my head, but I've read it on multiple occasions.

And for me, the thing that made me buy it was his recent Best Player performance at one of the ESPN camps and the Debartolo Festival, which Scroggins also attended.

But oh well, regardless of what you guys think, he should be well coached by Sark and Nuss.

Scroggins liked Washington a lot, no matter what you hear. He has teammates going there and Sark was on him early.

Montana going there changes things drastically. I've said all along I don't see him going to USC and I still don't. IMO, if it comes down to UT and UF, I expect Scroggins to choose UT.

The only other program I'd worry about getting in on it and taking him is UCLA. I feel better about UT's chances with Scroggins than I ever have and think there's more than a 50% chance now he signs with UT.

I'm telling you, taking Washington out of the equation was HUGE from what I'm told.

Well, I certainly don't have a problem with routing for U Tenn. It certainly is better than routing for the other UT.

As for ^^^^^, it is noteworthy that UW was the first to offer. Usually, that first offer is always special. Heaps' first offer was BYU and he said that was part of his decision.

Sorry i've been gone so i haven't gotten a chance to post here...

And yes this Montana commiting to UDub helps us A LOT. When I talked to him, i honestly got the feeling he was a slight Wash lean. He even said that he almost commited in late March, then changed his mind. IMO we are the front runners here and i have to agree with Kevin_Scott i don't see him going to USC. As for Florida, they seem like our only competition right now. I think the main difference between us and Florida in his eyes is being close to his family which is really big for us. That's why i think he chooses UT in the end.

I'd put our chances around 70%....

hinder is consistantly ranked higher than montana. rivals doesnt' even have montana in their top 250. yes de la salle runs the spread, but the fact is nick couldnt' hack it there and ran like a little girl to whatever program would take him. by every account he left DLS because they wouldn't name him "the man" not because they run the spread. if this happens in high school what do you think happens when he doesn't start immediately at UW?
