Ok so from what I am seeing, all these QBs run mainly out of the shotgun and run the spread. Why are we offering guys who do not fit our system????

Hendrix has a rocket laster arm, but he stays in the shotguy all the time.

Find a Qb in this class that isn't running mainly out of the shotgun formation. I haven't seen one yet. The spread has taken over high school football. Wilson Central (Cam Clemmons and Jordan Poole's school) here in Lebanon just switched to the spread this year. A bunch of schools are running the Tony Franklin version of the spread. Shotgun formation 3+ WRs and lots of passing.

That is gonna water down these qbs in the future and it is gonna take them longer to become NFL ready.

To me that is the easy way out for these high school coaches.

And the day is gonna come that DCs figure out the spread. It may take longer b/c there are many different types of spreads, but it will happen.

Gimicky ******** is all it is.

Sh** just be thankful so many divisions are implementing rules to outlaw the A-11 offense.

What the hell is that?

That is junk. You never know who will get the snap, if they will run it or what.

If I was a linebacker playing against that, I would pull my hair out. Yuck!

Wow i didnt realize he looked that bad. Thanks for catching me up guys.

and yeah ill be a soph. I have transfer orientation.

Matt, read the comments NOT made by Hubbs. I have not seen anybody else say he was bad. The others say he had an off day, but still looked decent. It NOWHERE NEAR as bad as Sab is trying to paint it. Also, look at what he did at the other camps. I think UT has passed on him, but he has greatly helped his stock this spring in terms of a pocket passing QB...

Legaux once again showed a big arm and a lot of potential but was inconsistent at times and still has some work to do on his footwork and mechanics.

While no quarterback was head and shoulders above the rest, several had strong days. Along with Legaux and Brunetti, Brandon Doughty, Tommy Rees, Coty Blanchard, Michael Strauss and Chase Rettig all had very good workouts throwing the football. - Barton Simmons

There were no qbs good enough for UT that fit the system IMO, except possibly Munchie.- Kevin Scott

Munchie has a very strong arm but accuracy has been a problem at times. -James Bryant

Munchie needs at least a year to red shirt to put on weight, throws a nice ball and has good arm. - James Bryant

Vader it's obvious that Sab doesn't care for Munchie and downplays his ability every chance he get's. None of us are experienced recruiters or evaluators. We rely on the EXPERTS i.e. "Coaches" to do that for us. If he becomes a Vol, the coaches see someting in him and want him to be part of the Vol Nation. They are waiting to look at Scroggins in a week or two, and after that they will have a better understanding of who they will go after the hardest. I think Rettig earned some respect with his performance, but it's still gonna take some time and more thorough evaluations.

As if now, IMHO, Scroggins is at the top of the list. We will wait to evaluate and woo him to UT. There will be other QBs there too that might be a surprise like Chase Rettig.

If we don't get JS, then the coaches will scrutinize the film and make an offer. Brunetti will have a good shot and Rettig as well. Munchie is a project qb that may take 1-3 yrs of work before he is ready to take the field.

my school's football team uses that system and goes to his camp every summer.

that is frickin sweet, why would they outlaw it?

In our conference we had a team that was historically "weak" (Think Memphis playing in the SEC). But they always had athletes, and were very strong in basketball. They hired a coach from Kansas and he used the A-11, which put 11 athlete on the field, while we had d-line and linebackers that couldn't cover them. If It hadn't been for a 14-0 start on two lucky fumbles we would have been upset. We won 42-38 and they controlled the game, and if you showed up after the first 2 minutes you'd think we would have been destroyed. It was so hard to contain, and playing Safety, I had to switch from covering Tight End/Inside Slot, to backfield and It competely screwed me up and I got burned a lot. It was not fun at all, I am happy it got outlawed.

Also, In the one year of the new coach/offense they went from 5-40 previous 5 years to 7-3 losing to a powerhouse in the first round of playoffs. It really does work wonders when used correctly with athletes.

Meyer has only worked with the spread. Not sure he would be as effective in a pro-style offense.

I hope he does change his offense. Because right now they are winning everything, so a change is good for everyone else.

He is trying to be more pro style to help his boy toy look better for NFL scouts. After that he wont care what offense is at florida be cause he will be at ND.
