Good arm strength, accuracy, elusiveness, good touch, had some good play fakes and he's one of the few quarterbacks that I've seen take even a small handful of snaps from under center. I'm sold.

I love how tall he stands in the pocket. Very high release. Great mechanics. Great arm strength. Not much not to like.

If I had to pick one thing, I'd say that he could use some work on his foot work. Looked like he relied on his arm strength a couple of times instead of planting correctly, but that's easily correctable once he's on campus. If he can make the reads and has the mental capacity to understand his progressions, then the kid will be a legit QB at the next level.

I really want this kid. He looks good in his highlight film and there is alot talent in cal. Anyone kno when he is planning on annoucing?

Looks like UT's starter in 2010...Don't know how long he will wait until he commits, but would love to have him in Orange by July 1...

He has said it will the end of summer when he makes his decision, but I think it will be sooner than that. I'd say the end of June or early July. He will see the UT, UF, and USC campuses all by then and there's not a whole lot to think about after that...

This just doesn't make a lot of sense to me, Larry. I would think if the coaches have seen enough to offer him, then they would accept a commitment the second that Scroggins gives it.

Not if they feel better about a couple other QBs.. schools make dozens of offers.. not going to take every kid that wants to commit...

He might not even be # 1 in their minds right now. he could be 4th for all we know

They've been very choosy about who they have offered at QB. You would think that they'd done enough research to know that they would take a guy if they'd seen enough to offer. JMO.

that is logical BUT, I've also heard (as u probably have) they want to evaluate Newton this fall. Now if they take a couple QBs this summer, why are they evaluating Newton??? going to take another JC QB also???

how do you know he is # 1? seen the board Huh?? :)

Just a calculation based on where he is on everyone else's board and who we actually have a shot at. I would think it were pretty apparent. And it isn't like we've offered dozens of guys as you say. Hendrix is the only other guy we've offered at QB that we have a chance at. You would think that we would take a commitment from either of those guys.

I had not heard that. I thought the ship had sailed with Newton. If that is the case, you would think that they would still bring in one 4 year guy. There are offers out there and I anticipate more coming soon.

I never trust those offer lists the services have but looks like Rivals has us offering 8 QBs. 4 pro and 4 dual

I assume the dual threats are either hold overs from the old staff (Godfrey) or guys they are looking at as athletes.

We have actually offered 5 pro-style guys Heaps, Bell, Sims, Scoggins, and Hendrix. 2 of those are solid commitments to other schools and 1 is set to announce tomorrow that he is staying out west. That's what I meant by "who we have a shot at."

EDIT: I edited my post. Now I see your confusion.

Yeah I was just about to comment about that but I think Sab maybe just considering the Pro style QBs.

I meant offered that we actually have a shot at landing and that could play QB here at Tennessee. By Larry's own admission Munchie will never play QB here and I haven't heard any word about the other D-T guys being offered at QB.
