Scroggins is rated the #7 QB in the updated Scout ranking. He is now the #1 QB from Cali.

And Phillip Sims was elevated to a 5 star.

Which day is Scroggins showing up for camp. From what I understand, today is line camp, when do the QBs come to show their stuff?

It'll be a hectic summer for Scroggins. In addition to his work with his high school team, he's heading to Florida for two days to the Gators camp and then from there he'll throw at Tennessee's camp before going to the USC camp. He says the biggest factors in his decision will be the depth chart (he'd be fine with redshirting but doesn't want to sit behind some starter for three years); the program's stability and he wants to go to a place where the environment will push him. He also plans to enroll at midyear with hopes of majoring in business or sports medicine.

That quote would seem to put USC out of the running. Barkely is going to be the starter there sooner rather than later.

I have a good feeling about him. It seems like a business decision for him and his father. I really like our chances. If he commits, we get Ambles and maybe even Prater.

I like that he will be seeing Knoxville after he camps at Florida. I like having the Vols as the last thing he sees before he heads back to Cali...

Wow - where did that quote come from? Wasn't he quoted in saying I don't mind that MB just signed with USC and isn't worried about competition like this past month?

Gators are the competition I'm most worried about. I would hate to lose him to UF. I hope he commits at our camp, but unfortunately I don't see that happening. He seems to be taking his sweet time.

why are people convinced we would take a commitment from him if he were ready to commit? I'm not convinced we are at that point to take commitment from any quarterback yet. IMO, staff is still evaluating quarterbacks. That is exactly what they were doing yesterday and will continue to do that.

I jsut don't think they are ready to "commit" that 2010 kid yet... everyone talks like we are??

You saying that the recruiting forum doesn't know much about the actual recruiting process? That's just plumb crazy.
