So, he lied about the part where he said he thought Boyd would get beat by the guys in the following classes?surgery. You think he'd come out and say Boyd jacked up his knee and I don't wanna risk signing him?

Sounds stupid trying to play the injury card when you have one commit with a busted knee (A.Jeffrey). Plus, Boyd lit up all those other 5* kids at the Army AA, on his BUSTED knee.
There's a difference between bringing in someone you feel CAN compete sooner or later, and being brought in to be a starter. But if you really think he's signing Lamaison (potentially) because he thinks he can start this year - they keep on believing that - but don't get your hopes up unless Crompton tears his knee or shoulder up.
If Lamaison is a silent, then CLK very likely thinks the kid has the goods to compete with both Stephens and whomever he brings in from HS.So you think someone like Lamaison won't get beat out by a good frosh his junior year? Maybe not the first few weeks of 2010 - but it would be coming.
Why sign Legaux when 2011 is probably the year we get someone who is twice as good as most QBs in the 2010 class? Depth.

I just think people are drawing conclusions that just because we go after a JUCO QB, that they HAVE to suck.
The truth is, CLK probably NEVER intended to look at a JUCO...with his Cali connections, someone probably pointed out what could be a diamond in the rough.
He may very well get stuck at the bottom of the depth chart...but that will be determined once he's here and has had his chance to compete first.
Didn't say he had to be the 2nd coming in order to compete...did I?You know what - you're right. Tajh Boyd's knee had nothing to do with it and Nick Lamaison is the second coming of Heath Shuler. He will throw for over 6,000 yards during his career at UT and lead us to an SEC title.
Maybe so...but like yourself and others accuse me of overselling the kid, I'm simply pointing out that too many of you are underselling the kid. Let's wait and see before we start castigating the poor kid without him even having a chance to compete. I just happen to think CLK is too picky to bring in a prospect with the intention of making him a walking clipboard rackPretty sure he would rather have a guy that's actually played football the past few years as his 2nd or 3rd string rather than a guy who hasn't sniffed the sport since high school. A lot more reassurance.
Didnt Snead spend time n the Juco ranks. Snead has the serious potential to be a better draft prospect than teabags. I leave it to our staff to figure out who is who in terms of eval talent. They were way ahead on Scroggins and Hendrix in terms of offering. Everyone has jumped on those too recruits boat when our staff had been on them for a while
