I doubt either one will be scared off by the other...not with our current roster.Don't think they'll both go to the same school.

Ainge-Schaeffer tag team action a few years ago ring a bell for anyone? Murray and Metal-Burger for UGA this year?
Again, no QB prospect in their right mind can expect to play for a NC contender without some stiff competition.
I agree...Kiffin may be looking for the prototypical pocket passer, but I happen to like one who can do that and happens to have a fast set of wheels as well.Scroggin's potential is in another atmosphere... I want him because I think Heaps is pretty close to reaching his potential

Scroggins and Heaps for the win, and Newton as an Athlete competing initially for a QB spot, who may end up a 6'6" WR for us.Not me. But I would love to have Scroggins though. This is the classic win-win scenario...
Has he ever said distance is or is not a factor on where he goes?

When we don't get Heaps or Scroggins, it'll be interesting to see what the staff pulls out of their hat...will a Newton/Hendrix solution be enough to build on....?
From what I read, Scroggin is probably a top 3 quarterback in California with Nick Montana and Austin Hinder (thus far, no clear distinction between their levels). As a point of comparison (from what I read on Cal boards), Cal delayed offering Hinder because they were initially hoping for Heaps. In other words if Hinder is roughly around Scroggins, then Heaps is clearly at another atmosphere.
And I noticed some people believe Heaps' stock has been dropping due to Rivals (which the West Coast branch was furious over the low rating), but do realize that Heaps has had only one combine for them and Heaps started slowly because he hasn't played since his state championship game. While I also believe that Scout overranked Heaps, from what I heard and seen, Heaps is clearly a top 3 QB. The best free report on Heaps is probably the Notre Dame one. As they said, Heaps should rank somewhere between a mid 4 (5.9 on rivals) to high 4 (6.0). The main thing preventing a possible 5 star is his upside.
WHEN?...You know something we don't? I'm feeling pretty good about our chances. With UT usually in the thick of the SECC race and with the SEC being known as the top conference in the nation...and you have this gaping hole at the QB position? I think it's the other competing schools that should be worried. When we don't get Heaps or Scroggins, it'll be interesting to see what the staff pulls out of their hat...will a Newton/Hendrix solution be enough to build on....?

With USC loaded to the hilt with 5* QB's on the roster, I think we're in pretty good shape (they would be the toughest competition there in the west, IMHO...CAL would be No.2). We're probably the only top 10 program with a glaring need at that position. Coleman's departure, just helped us immensely in that regard. If it weren't for that, I'd be more concerned.I honestly think our chances are better with Scroggins, but we have a lot of work to do on him and it isn't going to get any easier. As more schools find out he can play, well let's just say he's gonna have plenty of options.
