distance is always a factor for anyone when the final decision comes into play. The key is having someone you know there close by... so distance is not a factor for TN with Scroggins but might be with others.

I have heard on some places (Maybe here, can't remember) that Scroggins has family in Memphis and is not at all opposed to moving down here.

Jake and Jesse sign with UT in July. Jake leave for 2 leaving Jesse the reins. Jesse leaves early and Jake takes over. Perfect senario right?

He's talking about if he takes his mission, but Heaps has stated that he will not so it blows his thought out of the water.

Didn't Meyer suspend a player for X amount of games, but he hand picked the ones he would miss so that he would play in all the big games? I can't remember exactly how it went down, but I'm pretty sure it was Meyer who pulled that one.

According to this article Scroggins was just offered on Monday. I was thinking he has had an offer for a while. Seems like Eric has had him listed on his Master Recruiting list as holding an offer for a while now.

Quote:
Tennessee’s list of prospective quarterbacks for 2010 is growing, as evident by two recent scholarship offers.

The Vols issued an official invitation to Jesse Scroggins on Monday, just days after UT offered a scholarship to Andrew Hendrix last week.

I can't remember when exactly we offered him, but it was before LSU did and that was weeks ago.

That's what I thought as well. What's up with that article? Apparently the key word is official invitation. Maybe we only sent him a verbal offer before, and not an official letter.

I spoke with the talented Cali QB tonight and we'll have more later. He is obviously stoked about having a Tennessee offer. As previously published, his mother is from Tennessee and he'll be coming to camp in Knoxville on June 18. More later.

Austin Price...

If the kid is coming to camp, even though he already has all of this national attention and a host of offers from big time programs, you can bet he's not coming to try and impress the staff.

He's coming to confirm whether the program, in his mind, is worth sealing the deal. Big name prospects may VISIT other colleges, but rarely do they CAMP at multiple places.

This staff is in a very good position, considering these facts, and a very real prospect that he could be starting for one of the top 5-10 programs in the nation in less than 18 months from now.

Does this mean Heaps is out? Or is this Hooker being timely with his reporting again?

"Everybody is equal," Scroggins said. "I'm really enjoying the process. I'm taking it one day at a time. Tennessee, Washington, and LSU are the schools showing the most interest. It's going well."

"I really like that they are up and coming," Scroggins said. "They haven't taken a quarterback lately. The history of Lane Kiffin and quarterbacks is awesome. They are high on my list."

"It was very exciting," Scroggins said of receiving a Tennessee offer. "Coach Chaney came out and watched me throw. He liked how I threw it and he went home and talked it over with coach Kiffin. They decided that I was they guy they wanted and Chaney called back and offered me a scholarship. It was a good feeling."

Per Rivals... He is gonna make his decision in July or August. He is gonna make a few trips to see some schools in June including being in Knoxville on June 18...
