There is a pretty good chance Shep gets moved to WR and Jefferson has like 1 good game in his career and will be a sophomore next year IIRC. Come in, redshirt, and have 3 years of eligibility worth after he graduates.

LSU is also prolly going to get some QB with a cajan name (idk it ) who is said to not be bad.

Fluid release, effortless throws, smart decisions, making time when needed, always finding the open guy....personally, he reminds me a lot of Chris Leak.

i can because i am an eternal optimist when it comes to all things vol...and if he is that high on us already with us not really even recruiting him that hard at this point, imagine what he'll think of us if he becomes the top priority and feels the full force of the big orange recruiting machine.

Tonight, I read the article with orange tinted lenses. He's all Vol!:)

Thats fine. Our running backs will be beasts as well.

I had no idea who he was when I saw him but he was solid. Great athlete, wasn't surprised to find out later he as highly recruited, and he plays in maybe the best hs footballl division in the nation

He's more mobile than Leak though.

Yeah, but he is of the pro-style mold Leak came from...certainly not dual-threat, but more mobile than your average pro-style coming out of HS. Leak couldn't scramble for a first down, but he could make time when he really needed to. This guy looks to fit that billet...not really a scrambler, but great awareness and movement in the pocket, and maybe good for a 4 or 5 yard rushing average not including sacks.

Looking at his video again, I wonder how good of a drop back passer he would be? It looks like it is almost all shotgun formations. I would like to see how he does when he has to drop back and go through a progression at the same time. Isn't the Kiffin style offense primarily drop back?

new article

What is Scroggins looking for in a college?

"I'm looking for a fair shot in a pro style offense," Scroggins said. "I want to play on a team that has the will to win, hates to lose and a school with great academic prestige."

"I don't know when I will decide on a school," Scroggins said. "It will be when I fall in love with a school."

"Location won't be a big deal," Scroggins said. "I have spent time away from home, so I have no preference. I plan on taking official visits, but I'm not sure if I'll take all five."

he would be a great pick up. Makes some sweet plays on those vids

I would wager a guess that 90+% of all high school teams that "rely" on the pass more than the run do it all from the shotgun. There arent really many "pro-style" offenses in high school football.....the O-lines generally arent good enough, and the receivers cant get off the line of scrimmage fast enough for a QB under center to be able to find them before the rush gets to him. I think he will be fine....just like Heaps.

good thing about this kid is that he is very mobile with his feet...He can tuck it and run as well as any QB out there IMO...Reminds me a little of Tee Martin with a better arm.

Heaps is the mold of a Drew Brees. Smart kid, does nothing but win, good person, incredibly accurate, tremendous competitor. Gotta think that if he was 6'5 255 people would be calling him the next Tim Tebow but with a better arm.

I don't think there's any question he will be an outstanding/all-world type college qb. Scroggins will be good but I see exceptional things out of Heaps.

Yeah, but he isn't 6'5 255 and outside of his film he hasn't shown anything yet. He's disappointed in camp and now he's hurt.

I like Scroggins a lot. I think he has more upside than Heaps. His mechanics are good, his arm strength is excellent, he's accurate and mobile in the pocket.

I would be happy with either though.

I think it was a sore shoulder or something, but he was supposed to show at the LA Nike Camp and didn't because of it. I think it has a lot to do with throwing poorly at a previous camp and watching his stock plummet as a result. I think he could play with it.

Does not sound like a competitor if he is ducking competition. Also does not sound like he is mentally tough. Hard to say though without details.
