There is some very good news tonight. Hyams has heard through sources that Scroggins will be committing to USC on Wednesday. I think this confirms, once and for all, that Scroggins is all Vol...

He should press the button, then.

Really, what does it hurt? A QB of Scroggins' caliber or higher isn't going to waiver at Grayson if they don't waiver at Corp and Barkeley.

And, Grayson has tremendous upside.

There is a very good chance that the staff would rather not take a HS QB at all once JS commits to USC. Play during the season might change that, but I would be surprised if Grayson sees an offer for some time. If he eventually sees an offer after having a good season, it wouldn't shock me...but I see JUCOs in our future.

No one knows yet. His coach and family surely wouldn't let Jesse's decision slip before he gets the chance to announce.

While the Los Angeles area is the most heavily-recruited metropolitan area in the West and several players leave the area to play college football, the majority of the more highly-regarded prospects tend to stay home and play for USC or UCLA.

"They can stay in check," Scroggins said. "If you are from (Southern) California and you stay here, your parents are there for you. You can stay focused because you have somebody to go to. That's one thing I really like about SC is that I could stay home."

Scroggins added that being "comfortable" was the most important factor in his decision.

College should be enjoyable, and going to college with my parents right down the road was not an option for me.

I think he just confirmed what most everyone has been saying with that comment....he will be staying home.

It just seems like the dumbest decision to go to USC. If you're wanting to just be a highly touted recruit, then you're doing all the right things, Jesse. Getting ESPN, getting 9,000 post threads on you, front page articles, invited to all these camps, you're getting your publicity, good for you.

But if you want to be a COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYER, then you better use your head. You will go to USC, and you will MAYBE play 1, at the most 2 seasons. Of course, you can hope for an injury, and maybe that'll bump you up. But of course, since you're just the QB of the class there, there's a good chance they'll recruit another Golden Boy next year to jump you, and if you don't watch it, you'll be last place on the bench real quick fast and in a hurry.

And you won't mean anything to them. They've had some great names, Matt Lineart, Palmer, Sanchez, John David Booty, Matt Cassell, and you'll just be another quarterback that is there to lead them to victory, and if you don't, then you're a disappointment, and someone right behind you will do it, and you'll never earn it back.

Come to Tennessee. Be a college football player. Start from day one. Have 100,000+ cheer you on. See the signs with your name on it all over. Look at little kids wearing your number on the Vol Walk. Be part of the new era that is going to be the biggest thing this program has ever seen. If you don't, we will find someone else. We have been Tennessee before you, and we'll be Tennessee without you. We're not offering you because we need you, we can find someone to throw a ball. We're offering because we need a quarterback with confidence to come in and be the face of our program, to let others know that we can get players like you to play for us, and that we should be feared.

Pick Tennessee Wednesday. You say you don't follow the crowd. Prove it. Take the hard road. Take the college that needs you to be everything you claim to be. Take the program that wants you to determine the next 5 years on offense. Everything else just makes no sense. USC didn't want you, Florida didn't need you. We have been after you for a long time, and you know it.

Pick Tennessee. If you ain't a Vol, you're nothin'. And that's EXACTLY what you'll be if you put on anything but a Orange cap tomorrow.

First of all let me say that I'm a diehard UT fan so it's not like the info your about to read is from a Florida or USC fan. But I recently was in contact with JS, and I believe from the conversation I had with him, that he's definitely not coming to Tenn. Now I'm not going to sit here and tell you that he told me he was picking USC or Florida, because he didnt. But he did lead me to believe that Tenn was not his choice. I personally believe USC is his choice, but again I have no concrete evidence for that assumption. Now I'm sure I'm going to have some people say "where's your evidence and what not, but I personally said I would not provide any details to the public until after his announcement." My latest email from JS is what led me to create this thread. After tomorrow's announcement, if anyone really does want to see the email, I will gladly show. But until then I will respect JS's wishes. Just wanted to let all the UT fans know what's going on and not to be to disappointment tomorrow if it doesn't go our way.

Go Vols

You would have to provide more evidence if you said he will be coming than saying he won't be....it's pretty easy to believe that he is going to USC at this point (actually for a while now its seemed that way).
