I think the baily thing helps since he commited and scroggins didn't. Means what sab said in another thread that it means he's struggling with the decision. Otherwise he would have commited with his friend. Well I guess that validifys some of the rumors about the possibiltiy of the two announcing today. I bet he was until he reconsidered.

great...now he has bailey and his pops in his ear. I dont think bailey commiting today was a good thing at all.

Greg Ladky is reporting that Dion Bailey from Lakewood has committed to USC as expected. His teammate, Jesse Scroggins, said he wants to wait a week or more and might try to see Florida and Tennessee one more time before deciding.

So many conficting reports out there. One earlier said that UF was out.

Here's how I think it's going down. Correct me or disagree please. That's what we need to do to figure this out.

Bailey has known for a long time he was going to USC and he wants Jesse to go with him. Jesse had an amazing trip to see the Vols and was all set to commit to us. They he went to the Rising stars camp, had a lot of fun (Let me point out here that on visits, they really do push you toward committing at the end of the visit. They all do that and they make it hard to say no. Note that Jesse is one of those guys that let's the visit buzz get to him a little bit, it happened in Washington, not really at Florida, and it happened here. I'm sure the same thing happened at SC. The SC choice is an emotional one, the UT choice is a practical one. That's what he's tied up with at the moment. I do hope that visit happens and I think it will because I promise you he will leave a Vol. He won't see Florida though. I really do think they are out of it.

Agreed, although the UF bit bothered me. If he visits, it's over.

by possibly wanting to see ut & uf it tells me he is leaning usc but has significant doubts. We have to wow him on this visit to throw a big wrench into his emotional pull to the home team.

Of the time I've been here, this would have to be your best post. I agree with everything you said except for that he will leave a Vol. He should leave a Vol but it's really hard to say. If he did leave a Vol, we wouldn't know til the 25th. I've said all along that it's 50/50 between USC/Tennessee. When people thought it was over and he was a Trojan... I continued to believe Tennessee was in it. Anyways, awesome post. :salute:

I can see Scroggins visiting UT again, but Florida? Why would he want to do that? Maybe they are in the mix more than any of us think. I personally didn't think, and still don't, that UF has a snowballs chance of landing him.

If he visited a second time and still chose USC on the 25th I would be shocked. This staff is to good to let that happen.

if he does want to be a vol when/if he visits does kiffin tell him to wait till the elite 11 camp or does he take it or get the publicity? I think he should take it cause we will still get publicity anyways.....thoughts?

Yeah but that would be the protege, pupil, apprentice... whatever you want to call it beating the master or teacher.... again, whatever you want to call it. I'm sure their sales pitch is about on par with one another. The master has a better track record and USC is Scroggins backyard. If he visits again, he should leave a Vol but this is a hard one to predict. You know Scroggins wants to come play in front of 105,000 people, in the best conference, for the team that offers the best opportunity at early playing time. But USC has such an amazing track record. They are in his backyard and his family could come see him play(or sit on the bench). UT really does offer him his best shot at playing time but passing on USC in your backyard and leaving your family is a tough decision. He seems like a good kid... I would love for him to be a Vol and not just for football.
