You think Freeze will be around that long?Hugh Freeze is a good coach, that much is evident. He had a great record at Ole Miss and was an excellent (even eyebrow raising) recruiter. But, those reasons alone are not the number one reason why he should be hired as the Tennessee offensive coordinator.
It's because for the first time in a long time, you'd have stability. Why's that?
The number one reason he should be hired is if something happens with Pruitt and he gets canned, UT now has a VERY clear succession plan to plug in a guy who has been a proven winner in the S.E.C. into its head coach position.
I'm going to go ahead and say it now - if Tennessee hires Hugh Freeze, not only is it a slam dunk for the present, THAT will be the beginning of returning the Vols back to prominence in the future. GBO!!
would Coach Pruitt, AD Fulmer, and Coach Freeze even mesh together...if hired we're still two more years from competing for the SEC East...if we improve even close to that, Coach Freeze will be hired away from us...you really don't think he'll stay just to be an OC do you...he's already had a taste of the "big time coach" thingee...yep, he wants more and can't say I blame him...good gig if you can get it...
GO VOLS...RECRUIT LIKE HECK!
Not trolling. I’d have no issue with Freeze being hired at UT. Mike Leach was the only coach out there that would have made me a little uneasy. Wasn’t worried about Gruden, or anyone else, certainly not worried about Freeze.
Did you consider that a head coach could be fired for reasons not necessarily related to football?
Ask Mike Price. Pensacola Florida with ladies of the night while on Obama's dime
Who else has been around that long, you get the best one out there and that is Freeze. If you have to replace him in a few years at least your roster looks appealing to the next best candidate. Never settle always go after the best, if you can't get them get the next best. That's the mentality a SEC contender has to have, anything is just pure pretenders. GBO!!!!You think Freeze will be around that long?
Some folks just don't want the best, they would rather haggle on how long they can keep em. Good grief folks, look at the revolving door of assistant we ourselves have had. Give me a coordinator who's demand is going to be high over one that sucks and you replace in 2 or 3 years anyway. Good coaches follow good coaches and good players. He would be here at least 2 years more than likely and maybe 3 and who reallyt knows. I know we would be better on offense if he were here more than likely and that is what it is all about. It's not hard if you want to win. GBO!!!!If we do good for two years and he leaves - that is twice as long as we had Helton and he sucked. So I will take what we can get if even our bad OCs get hired away.
The post I replied to said something about freeze taking over for pruitt when pruitt isnt good enough. Not about hiring freezeWho else has been around that long, you get the best one out there and that is Freeze.
