It's not Simms that is the problem with the one reads. It's two issues...

1. Inexperieinced O-Line
2. Depth at WR

We have two freshman, and a sophomore backing up the two seniors on the team for WR. It's not like we have a plethora of depth and experience with the system that's in place.

He just either does not know how to read defenses or is being coached to look at one maybe two receivers because someone is open on every pass play....I thought he did better in the roll out why don't we do that more?? It really sucked to see him get a pick on the exact same play two weeks in a row. WTH was that?? He is tough and I don't mean it personal... the criticism, because he is doing the best he can but I say roll him out more...:hi:

Complete BS. I have talked with Tyler and his father after every game this year (his father and mine know each other) and he is not considering transferring right now at all. You only have 30-something posts......please dont use the future ones to spread BS made up rumors.

Yea, sounds like total BS to me. CDD is trying to protect the guys career. No need to get him smacked around until the OL gets better...but I hope it is this year. If he gets used to the offense and gains some weight and has what can be a gr8 offensive line he will be better off for it. I hope he is a smart FB player...reading defenses and so on. He has a very sharp pass and I cannot wait to see him in a game. :hi:

How can a QB even play up to what many perceive is a limited potential, if he is playing off of his rump most plays?? Did you see him move the pocket when he threw a rope of Moore for a TD?? Did you see the throw where he was under pressure from the beginning and hit Hunter in the endzone on the numbers?? Look, the kid maybe limited, but he's even more so with a line that doesn't block very well right now, and inexperienced WRs that don't know the playbook. Please, stop slamming a kid that can't help what he has to play with. The coaches know this, the players know this, and most of the halfway educated fans know this. Simms will improve, and in fact, from last week to this week, I saw a better QB on the field. How many basically freshman QBs have come in a played successfully against 2 Top 10 opponents back to back?? I don't know of one, do you??

good post. I think he did a little better than he did last week as well.

Yes, that was a nice move in the pocket for the TD to Moore. I just don't exactly blame the O-Line and WR depth for all of his mistakes. He does have to shoulder some blame. He has made some horrible throws.

At least he wasn't throwing every ball short this week, and did make a few stellar passes. Still holding ball too long at time, but also made a few quick releases.

Bray is transferring after this year. He is telling it all over school. Guess after Simms' 2 years we will be stuck with the transferr from La Tech, well if he dont leave/

Be careful Flip99 is going come on here mention you don't know what your talking about. He knows them well and he is here to stay....lol.

In all seriousness, please clarify your comments " he is telling it all over school" . Do you have some examples. Thanks.

I sure am glad there were not message boards when Peyton was here. I mean he never threw a pick against FL!!!! I don't think he would have made it. We would have heard all the bring in SUGGS!!!

There were boards when Peyton roamed Neyland and before his day. From the Alliance Sports days to Gridscape to where we are now....much the same. Oh fans are bit more abrasive, rude and insulting, but there are similarities. One of the big complaints when UT was having its glory decade was that we simply weren't winning "big enough". Wasn't enough to get the W....nope we had to do it in style. Some tried to be a voice of reason and have them simply enjoy the days for most of the older guys knew it wouldn't/couldn't last forever. I go back to the 60's and have seen the ups and downs. This is a rough time, but it's not the first time UT has been down. We'll be back again. Just the normal cycle that is college football. Us grumpy old men know it, but the kids will still act as if the world is coming to an end. I used to react the same way myself. They'll grow out of it....probably.
