No it doesnt.
I have played and coached basketball for 30 years. Your players respond to the truth much better than fabricated perceptions, especially at that level. You think our upperclassmen are too stupid to understand there is a big difference between the roster they re on compared to some of the teams they ve played? The last guy got found out really quick for not "being real" even when he had the talent twice to win the east. Stating the obvious is not throwing your team under the bus.
We may have had enough talent, but not in the places needed or the two deep..So you're saying that CBJ did know how to recruit talent? Or were his recruiting rankings fake and pumped up as some claim, leaving this roster depleted?
This team has more than enough talent to have won at USCjr Saturday night.
Its what scientists call "an anomaly", plain and simple. It’s like the Auburn beatdown never happened around here. On the road, JG played fantastic, 1st SEC win since 2016. Fast forward to last night - lose on the road to SC by 3 with no Trey Smith and suddenly VN is “tired of what UT has become”. Buncha weak minded know nothings on VN these days.
The rankings of 4 of our 5 losses. Winless last year in the SEC and we lose a game we could have won and half of VN is in meltdown. Sorry just don’t see it . This is my 25th year coaching HS football and one thing I know I have learned is either your getting better or getting worse. It is about the jimmys and joes as much or more than x’s and o’s . I see improvement. I see a HC and staff that is actually invested in winning and can’t stand to lose. Yes they will make mistakes but we as a fan base can’t expect anyone to win the Kentucky Derby running a Shetland Pony , no matter how many Life Championships they have.
I think what is so frustrating, is after the Auburn upset, if we could have followed that up with a win Saturday night, we would really be feeling better about the program and seeing a shot to recruiting. We were looking good, right up into the third quarter. Problem is, we ran out of gas. We are paper thin in depth and the previous week going against the Tide just was too much. Scheming and execution played a part, but it's tough to execute when you can't catch your breath. So you're saying that CBJ did know how to recruit talent? There are a lot of examples of Shetland ponies winning in college football I think. Danny Wuerffel is a perfect example of a mediocre quarterback who somehow Steve Spurrier was able to turn into the ideal extension of his own self and play The Perfect game for his purposes. Part of the magic of being a great coach is finding that kind of chemistryThe rankings of 4 of our 5 losses. I've never said they didnt have enough talent. Your trying making a point I havent refuted because the other one is silly. So you're saying that CBJ did know how to recruit talent? Or were his recruiting rankings fake and pumped up as some claim, leaving this roster depleted?

You say the magic of being a great coach is FINDING that kind of chemistry. I don’t know anyone that can find that in 8 games. Everyone on here that was hell bent for Chucky or Kelly what say you now. Where’s the magic... obviously they are better coaches than JP!!!! All I am saying is I see improvement in a way I didn’t see under the last three coaches. Given time and a good recruiting cycle I believe we will be battling for the SEC again. There are a lot of examples of Shetland ponies winning in college football I think. I wasn't disagreeing with you. Part of the fun of college football is waiting for the magic to happen. In that way, the Saban phenomenon has been bad for the sport because too much of the unpredictability of it has been removed. I like the direction we are heading right now but that does not mean there will not be some pain along the way. The desire for Chucky was that he would bring instant notoriety and possibly a recruiting advantage. The people who wanted Kelly we're simply looking at what he did at Oregon and chose to ignore what he did it in Philadelphia. That never had a chance of having a good ending if he had been named coach. You say the magic of being a great coach is FINDING that kind of chemistry. Auburn definitely in everyone's distant view in rear mirror, but shouldn't be. I expected us to lose, as did most of the betting public. As with all of our games this year, except Bama, there's not been a total train-wreck game. Offense definitely showed improvement with strategy and OL blocking. The Defense regressed, and I think Pruitt got out-schemed last night on D...we didn't have an answer for the 3 TE power running sets SC threw at us, then we bit the bait and they burned us long. Good news is they played well enough to win...bad news is critical errors and poor tackling cost us the W. Letting them off the hook is probably what upsets most. I see improvement, but not sure if I see enough for two more SEC wins...but certainly possible if they keep improving. Pruitt's got us on the right path, but everyone just ready to consistently start whipping up on some folks

Mistakes aside we were worn out the second half . We don’t have a 2nd or 3rd d-line rotation. We have a hodgepodge Offensive line that did not respond to a very loud and hostile environment. I felt like we should of won the game. I also believe we have a large majority of players that have not retrained their selves to winning. Both winning and losing is contagious. If being honest is throwing kids under the bus then I guess Im quilty. . Someone warm up the Greyhound .
