09 CA S Byron Moore - UT Commit

I would guess SEC schools lose more (or at least as many) jucos than Miami would

I would think the same thing as well with the SEC's extra math rule. Also has hurt TN badly the last few years with Bruce Irvin especially. Also I can't remember if Glen Stanley had that same problem with the extra math rule or not, but I'm thinking he did.

Anyway I did read by many UM posters that they have had trouble getting JUCO recruits in the past. I guess it could just be sour grapes though, since they are losing out on Moore.

Some of you guys are talking like Moore has already committed to UT. You all know something I don't? I haven't seen it announced yet.

Apparently, Moore's daddy called Wilcox and told him that Moore was coming to UT, and he wasn't happy about making the call. I'll believe it when I see it.

Dooley is taking it to another level. I ( jmo here) would be hard pressed to find 5 coaches I would trade him for. Very excited about our near future.

Hilarious!

Oh, you are serious. Yikes.

Jiminy Christmas, the Dooley legend is reaching "mythotical" proportions. He has a career losing record as a head coach. He is bringing in a pretty good, not spectacular, recruiting class. How about even just a modicum of substantial success as a leader before you place him in the pantheon of elite coaches?

There have been rumors on both sides recently...

All I know is the person I talk to said he's leaning heavily to UT right now. I thought he was a Cane but I always get good info from him.

Also, definitely TIFWIW, but Hooker and the guys on his radio show have said someone close to Moore told them very recently the Vols are "in great shape".

I really want to get excited about this one, but I wont until that fax machine spits out a Cali area code with his signature.

"jiminy Christmas", seriously?

Poole, A Johnson, Lathers, D Thomas, Waggner will all probably start.

Thanks for refreshing my memory, I guess I was thinking more along the lines that only one of those will be a senior starting.

I don't see Austin Johnson starting though and PWagg will be in a big competiton for his spot.

Do you think his committment will stay or will he switch back to the U on NSD? Just your opinion.

i think it sticks. I think there is likely something to him not qualifying at the U. makes sense since 72 hours ago he was going to U and suddenly they are out and he is back to us.

family wanted him at U

Jiminy Thesaurus! How do you know it isn't a spectacular recruiting class? You haven't even watched them play their first collegiate snap. In 4-5 years, this could go down as the greatest recruiting class of all time for all we know.

LWS you have to fill us in on the numbers. After Moore, we only have room for 2 more to enroll. Now do we have a few that Dooley and coaches know won't make it, or is there a loop hole that he is exploiting. Because right now we really want Dawson, Maggitt, Clear, Richardson, Johnson, and Wright it seems.

I know but it was thrown out there. It played 0 impact on Moore's decision.

Nowhere in my post did I mention Moore's dad or Miami being shocked. I was just stating info about Miami being a difficult school to get into especially for a JUCO.

As I understand the rule on numbers you can only sign 28 between February and May. What about after May? That's how AU signed 32 last year, they brought in some players in January.(loophole)?

Did I say you did? You threw out the possibility of him coming to UT because of the difficulty of JUCOs to Miami. If this were the case, Miami insiders being shocked and his Dad being upset wouldn't fit with the grade scenario. I know you don't think that was the reason he didn't go to Miami, but I was just showing that the reactions point to it being he just wanted to be at UT rather than UM.

we want them but we also understand we are not getting them all. just won't happen.

there are a couple with academic concerns BUT Dooley will only over sign if he is certain some won't make it as qualifiers. IMO, he is not interested in having to tell someone in July they need to look elsewhere.

26 is all we can enroll. I keep hearing they are not interested in gray shirting anyone. that means sign and place any over 26 qualifiers.

I think we end up with 27 or 28 signees on NSD. no more than 28.

from your list, I think Dawson is UK, Wright is Auburn, Maggit stays in Florida.. Johnson might or might not be a take. depends on others acadeic status as well as how we read his IMO

That contradicts a lot of reports from other insiders.
