You dont remember Kenny Phillips. We were actually in the running for him when he was being recruited out of high school.

Do you think these kids were watching UT or the NFL? Do you think they recognize an SEC player over an NFL pro-bowler. Seriously, we have a great track record of getting people to the NFL but that is not something we challenge Miami on when recruiting a kid. We are well represented in the NFL but we show them the 40K people in the seats at Miami vs the 100K in Neyland when we are going to go head to head with the Canes. We also show the video of Winslow being a soldier after their defeat at the hands of the Vols.

miami never had great attendace and still won but im not gonna get in a homer vs homer debate

about byron moore...he is even more important since our besct corner is leaving early for the draft and the top 3 are leaving

I was just making the point that the number three team in getting players into the NFL doesn't challenge the number one team in that area when recruiting. We use our advantages which are facilities, conference strength, and fan support. Everyone is aware of Miami's success.

Noone that actually has a clue is concerned with the Vols recruiting. Just the ones with an insecurity problem when it comes to other schools, and the worry worts.

You know - Merriweather - actually I only remember him because of his claim to fame - he tried his best Albert Haynesworth impression by stompping on FIU player's faces and kicking their heads in that brawl. Never have heard of Phillips though.

fwiw, IDK if Moore is sold on the whole "Be the next XYZ!" routine, LSU was already selling him on being the next Patrick Peterson

WATCH OUT for Canes with the Cali prospects coming in on the Jan 21 weekend this thing could get ugly......CB: Rashad Wadood CB: Byron Moore S/WR: Marqise Lee DE: Jason Gibson DT: David Moala(ring leader) and DT: Antwaun Woods. If one or two pull the trigger that weekend then Moore could follow.
