This one hurts bad. Day 1 starter gone. Our options are getting slimmer as NSD approaches. We could be disappointed come February

I think the coaching staff is confident with Dawson. He is in constant contact with the coaches and is coming on the 28th. We will get a solid DT, at least 1.

Lot nicer in Miami this time of year than East Tennessee. Moore is from LA area - could be a factor...

But who knows. There's got to be a ton staffs out there good at convincing kids...

Dawson/Maggitt at LB

Mickey/Gabe at DT

Lane/Buie at RB

Mackey at DE

Tiny at OT

Clear at TE

Loften at SS

Of the last 4 I mentioned it'd be huge if we got 3 of those 4

With 6 spots left you have to like our chances to fill them with the guys from this list. Still optimistic for a strong finish on NSD

I'll take orta over Moore but u can't really compare until orta has a year of college under his belt also, now can you? I personally prefer getting a high school senior

Orta for Moore isn't nowhere near as bad as some of you are making it sound like!! Orta looks waaaay better then his 3* ranking (though ESPN has him as a 4*) imo. Plus, we get this guy for 4-5 years!
Also, I don't think getting Dawson (who may be KY bound) or Maggit (who seems unlikely) are as huge as some make it out to be. Kent Teurene or Jaiari Dunaway are still on the board to. Sure, I'd rather have Dawson if I can only pick 1, but I don't see any of the 4 being that much more of a sure thing then the other. And we should almost surely get 1 of them. As long as the 1 we gets qualified I think we're good.

The make or break guys to me are: Cam and Antonio bec they are the top 2 IN-STATE prospects, and it'd be a huge statement to lock those guys up... and always great to have big guys. And then lastly... Gabe Wright and Mickey Johnson- DEF. TACKLES!!!! That's where the SEC seperates itself, and we need to get up to par. Those are the 4 I want the most. And then Marlin Lane because we need a RB for depth now since Oku left. A Sr. in Poole, and just Neal and Williams (who may or may not be SEC level) and undersized Devrin (who may or may not play RB)... is not enough there.

Give me those last 5 and then any of the LBs, and I'll celebrate our top 12 recruiting class that filled many important needs!!! GBO!!

BTW- I'm going to the NSD recruiting celebration at the Knoxville Convention Center hosted by all the coaches! Anyone else?!

Kent Turene is a going to be a Dawg, and has cancelled his visit here according to VolQuest.com. Maggitt apparently really likes us and wants to go out of state, even though I think he falls to the Gators or Miami. Dawson may fall to KY, but we get the last official visit and the last in-home visit. Dunaway is a sign and place, no chance he qualifies.

I wish Byron nothing but the best. I think he took the process seriously and ended up going where he wanted.

He never turned this into a circus and sounds like he kept the staff pretty well informed.

I hope he does great things as a Cane and moving forward.
