Show me how many close wins Ohio State had over teams that didn't make the NCAA field.

I think the new rule is that you have to have 4 seasons between appearances in a given tournament. That means the earliest UT could play in Maui would be the '08-'09 season.

There are a whole bunch of November tournaments UT could sign on for. However, I don't see the pressing need to do so. Unless it's one of the glamour events, I'd rather just schedule three quality nonconference opponents and be done with it.

Your UNLV had several close games with horrid teams this season.. And I've heard you praise them several times.. Seems like a double standard with you hat.

How can you list a team's bad losses without considering their quality wins?

Florida, GaTech, Kentucky x2, UT, all the other SEC teams, now GW, and your favorite: WSU.

Anyways, listing Ark with the rest doesn't seem to fit in, as they made it into the field of 64 (granted, somewhat controversially) but definitely on the top-half of the league.

I'm not trying to say I think Vandy will beat the Hoyas, it just frustrates me that you will not relent one bit. You continue to say wait until next game when they will be revealed by the better opponent. I'm sure you considered WSU the better team before (probably even after) then game.

No, they are probably not going to beat Georgetown. Does that make them mediocre? I don't think so. I would say they are near the top 20-30 teams right now, which I would classify as "good".

Vandy is at best a mediocre team who got a very soft draw.

UT hits there FT's at Vandy and they win by 4 or 5 at worst.

Right now that trash from Nashville is the worst team in the 16.

Any so-called UT fan that can pull for Vandy isn't much of a UT fan.

Not a double standard at all. UNLV also has wins at Nevada and Texas Tech to buttress their resume. They also won their conference tournament. Wazzu was eliminated in the first round. One of those horrible teams you're talking about Vegas playing close games with, Utah, beat Wazzu. Also, you have to factor in that Vegas played a substantial portion of the conference season with both Kevin Kruger and Wendell White either out of the lineup or severely limited by injuries.

The Coaches vs. Cancer is a great tournament. No team should ever pass up a shot to play in the Garden. Also, the tournament in Kansas City will becone a premier event. It's going to be played in the new arena there and tied to the new College Basketball Hall of Fame. The two Vegas tournaments aren't bad, either.

But Vanderbilt also has some impressive wins sprinkled in their resume..(UF,UT,UK, and GT just to name a few) All I'm saying is that you can't say they're a bad team because of the draw they got. I know their not a great team, but saying they're mediocre is a bit of a stretch.. I can keep naming teams if you want..

Unless something really bizarre happens tomorrow, Vanderbilt will be the 15th best team left in the tournament at the end of the day. Creighton, VCU, Duke, etc. will also be sitting at home wishing they had gotten Vanderbilt's draw. There are a number of teams in the NIT who would be in the Sweet 16 if given the path Vanderbilt followed.

Again, I would like someone to explain to me how beating a Georgia Tech team that would struggle to beat Carson Newman on the road counts as an impressive Memorial Gym win for Vanderbilt.

lol.. I guees wins against teams in the tournament have no merit.. How can UNLV's win against Utah be impressive when they dropped several games against abysmal oppenents. Don't say Texas Tech and Utah are nice wins when you dismiss GT as an average team.. Last time I checked, Utah was never considered for any field hat.. Nice consistency..

I never said anything about TT or Utah! But if you want to go there TT is an average team, so is UNLV.
GT is an average team also. As much as you want to brag on Vandy's wins, why are you ignoring the horrible losses? You know Furman and Appy State?

I wouldn't pull for Vandy if they were facing commies, arabs or even hitler.

This means that buckeyes are going to be coming to Knoxville. I'm so going to that game :dance2:

Buckeyes coming to K-town will be awesome. It will be the tie breaker game from this year.

Don't forget that UT goes on a European tour late summer, so maybe we don't schedule a tourney at the beginning of the year because of it. I think they will play 8 to 10 games, so this team will be rolling once the season starts. No rust what so ever, but Pearl might not want to wear them down too much.

UNLV won at Texas Tech, a place Kansas and Texas A&M both lost. Vanderbilt beat Georgia Tech at home. That's a significant difference. If you're going to debate, keep up with the facts. Also, please show me where I said beating Utah was a good win. I was simply using those results as a mode of comparison between UNLV and Wazzu.
