Those 4 seem to be the top international guys still exploring college possibilities along with sticking in the NBA Draft. Also had forgotten about Camron McDowell, unproven at this level but 2nd leading JUCO scorer and is at the NBA combine, would include him.

He wouldn’t even tell me the name, just keeps reiterating that it would be the 3rd best add this offseason behind Ament and Kobi. He said this guy would 100% start and Vol fans would be stoked to have him. No idea if he’s inflating the name, but he told me it wasn’t a Passmore type. Again, without knowing anything more than that, I can’t really answer questions you may have and I have zero hints as to who it is except that he has a connection to a current Vol (not sure if player or new coach) and they’ve kept it rather quiet due to the Rice stuff. The same source also said Vols feel pretty good about Gainey getting that 5th year, but that this add is even better than Gainey back. Sorry for the vagueness, but it’s all I know. I think Wilkinson makes sense. Yes, he’s signed with Georgia, but he makes as much sense as Sellers in that regard, plus we know he and Morgan are tight.

During the Rice negotiations, everyone on the real insider circle got very nervous and tight with information. Villanova got our term sheet terms, USC soon after. He got big offers designed to blow up our deal. It worked. We lost Rice. Since then, everything has been tight-lipped. I still don’t know who he’s referring to. I don’t get my ego inflated by knowing things, but enjoy sharing information when I get it. Right now I don’t have it. Hard to overstate how painful that Rice situation was. He was in paperwork when he got scooped due to poor information control. Let’s see if something happens this week. If it doesn’t happen today, don’t burn Todd at the stake. It may still be true. Just late.

My only thought/contention with that thought is that we’d have almost certainly heard of a player having asked for a release, then needing to get his release which usually takes a couple days, before he’d be announcing a commitment.
