I'd prefer you be right. Sellers shot over 40% from 3 the last 2 years in a big boy conference. Scored 14 ppg and is a big Guard at 6-5.

McDowell is interesting to me, previously followed and recruited by both Morgan & McLain, 2nd leading scorer in JUCO last year. A good bit of unknown I would say, but an arguing person could definitely make a case he’d be the 3rd best and a likely starter.

So my source (the same guy who told me about Massamba, Amaree, and Morgan before anyone reported it) is saying it’s still happening today. I thought I guessed the guy, but I didn’t. He wouldn’t even tell me the name, just keeps reiterating that it would be the 3rd best add this offseason behind Ament and Kobi. He said this guy would 100% start and Vol fans would be stoked to have him. No idea if he’s inflating the name, but he told me it wasn’t a Passmore type. Again, without knowing anything more than that, I can’t really answer questions you may have and I have zero hints as to who it is except that he has a connection to a current Vol (not sure if player or new coach) and they’ve kept it rather quiet due to the Rice stuff. The same source also said Vols feel pretty good about Gainey getting that 5th year, but that this add is even better than Gainey back. Sorry for the vagueness, but it’s all I know. Source has never lied or given false info, so if it doesn’t happen, I’ll gladly take the hate as I’ve said I’m not an insider, just an alumnus with a VERY solid connection. I’ll report more when I hear.

This is my thinking as well. It makes the most sense with the connection, and he’s in that Goldilocks zone of being about the third best player on our team. Hard to think of many others who fit that bill.

In the Massamba/Abrams week, I knew we had two guards from outside the main pool that we had a good chance to sign. Midweek, Todd knew who they were. I didn’t. He is obviously connected to someone in that circle who is playing looser than instructed or hasn’t been instructed yet. If you all remember “Check my stats” guy who nailed a few predictions, he is a guy who was friends with a big money booster. He got some nuggets early, shared, got cutoff. I know who he is and watched it happen. So far Todd is batting 1000. Timing is always hard to predict on these signings. Deals can be 95% done and then an issue pops up with transcripts, family travel promises or some other trivial matter and it take another three days. Give it time. I still don’t know who he’s referring to. I don’t get my ego inflated by knowing things, but enjoy sharing information when I get it. Right now I don’t have it. Hard to overstate how painful that Rice situation was. He was in paperwork when he got scooped due to poor information control. Let’s see if something happens this week.
