Okay, so I had to look that up. EABOD. The variety of Google responses I received was not confidence inspiring!
One AI overview said:
"eabod" does not appear to be a recognized word or acronym in standard English; however, it's possible it's a typo, a misspelling of another term like "ad hoc" or "end of day" (EOD).
Another AI overview said:
The abbreviation "EABOD" likely stands for End of Another Boring Day.
The next three entries had it correct, spelling out the vulgarism. But Reddit spelled it out with this added interpretation:
"E-A-B-O-D = Eat A Bag Of D_cks, meaning “hello” in EvE."
I think I'll use that to greet everyone over in the gameday thread this morning!
Next, slang.org had "An acronym frequently used in texting and online chat, translating loosely to 'say whatever' or 'sure, why not', signaling nonchalance or mild indifference." So the next time someone invites me over for dinner, I'll respond...
But aabbreviations.com told me what I really wanted to hear:
"EABOD. Eat a Bag of Donuts"
When I lived in New Orleans, I had a job for several years on the westbank of the river. Driving through Gretna on Monday mornings, I would stop at a local donut shop and pick up a $5 bag of donuts leftover from the weekend. For only $5 I got a 13 gallon kitchen garbage bag filled with all kinds of donuts, stuck to each other in one, big, gooey mass!
I'd set the bag on the office kitchen table, slit it open, and everyone would descend upon it like a pack of vultures pulling out the choice bits from a mass of mangled roadkill. Good memories.
