He's needs to produce on the field, first. I would be against any actions this spring/summer to give that guy an extension until he actually wins on the field. We made that mistake with Fulmer after the 2007 season and gave that guy a raise and extension.

I mean Kiffin would have had Tyler Bray instead of Boyd.... Not like there was a massive difference between the two outside of one freak broken thumb injury.,

happy that we have a head coach with great assistants to recruit and develop high school players,rather than a coach shows President Truman said about Nixon, "If the truth would serve him better,Nixon would tell a lie just to keep his hand in".Same with B..ch and others.

Luckily this staff is changing that. They recruited the current vol fan recruits hard. The culture is changing and you can see it with how these boys had no quit on the field. I'm excited to watch this team grow.

You can tell the vibe is coming back. Cade Mays coming in, Trey staying. 10 year+ dysfunction, and we're still a BRAND. Just wait until we get another good season behind us. HOPE we're spending ALOT of time in middle TN for 2021 cycle! Another good TN state class.

GA fans have to get SO frustrated. GA has 27 4 stars in 2021, and unlike UF, don't have alot of in state competition. Everyone would be in trouble if they could ever get a Spurier or Saban type coach...they'd never have to leave the state recruiting.

Wait - didn’t he have the best staff in America ?

Quite sure Rodgers recruited Higgins and Lawrence to Clemson .....
Plus Butch was only going to run his offense.

In hindsight- they made good decisions- but all would have balled out wherever they were at.

I'm not so sure Florida has any in state competition right now. UCF 10-3 cupcake schedule is the best available competition.

We're definitely in a much better spot than we would have been. To argue otherwise would be insane, given Butch still gets fired and we end up Pruitt still. Definitely would have be interested to see how different this years record would have been.

Hamilton didn't hire Butch. Dave Hart did. But yes, he was in over his head.

I joined VN about the time Butch was fired. Is it true that Butch did not want or pursue Trevor Lawrence as a recruit?

Yeah Fulmer did a great job with Randall Cobb, Harrison Smith, Patrick Willis, Garrett Reynolds and Tyson Clabo didnt he?
Reynolds and Clabo were legacies, Cobb played one mile from Fulmer's house , Smith and his family were Vol fans for life and Willis's coach begged PF and Taco Chavis to offer him but they didnt even look at the tape he sent.

Patrick Willis is the absolute worst miss on home state talent in the history of UT football IMO.
