If people west of Knoxville cared about UT football they would be a top 10 team. All the money on the state is here in Nashville. Nashvillians care more about the Titans and Preds. Middle TN has changing demographics...people moving in from the north and all over. They don't care about UT...

There are more Memphis and Ole Miss fans in West TN than there are Vol fans. Sad but true.

It sucks, but it's true. People west of Knoxville have moved on from the Vols. The Vols are more of an east TN thing, unfortunately.

If you go to a sports bar in Nashville on a Saturday, you see very few people in orange. You see an equal number of Bama, Ole Miss, and Auburn fans. And maybe as asian wearing Vandy gear. People just aren't into the Vols. It's more of an east TN thing.

Keep telling yourself that. UT football is an east TN thing. People in Nashville don't even follow it. It's Titans country.

Why does everybody think UT is supposed to be some powerhouse? Nobody cares about UT football west of Knoxville. Here in Nashville, it's Titans country, and there are about as many Bama fans here as Vols fans. UT football is an east Tennessee thing.

Butch is a good coach. If we get a new coach it will be five more years of losing. Down year for Butch, but will be much better next year and maybe make the Outback Bowl. We just need to accept the fact that Tennessee football is not top tier. Need to focus on academics.

Bottom line: We got another incompetent AD. Just a string of bad hires over the last 15 years or so. The athletic department simply isn't invested in winning. They may never be. Heck, if you keep selling out games and selling t-shirts, why change?

Florida will fire their coach and get a great one. UT, because we are cheap, will get the next loser.

We need to steal whomever Florida is trying to get right now.

That's gotta be depressing. Going from possibly making millions to maybe coaching high school football. Life sucks sometimes.

Probably better to focus on academics and have a mid-tier football program. We will still sell out games, and the tail-gating is still fun. Let's just settle in and enjoy life.
