Jack Jones career over

Hate to lose this guy in the worst way. Was really looking forward to a new home run hire head coach next year and having Chance Hall and JJ anchoring that right side again, ballin' out. Best wishes to High Motor Jack Jones in the future.

Unfortunate, he was an asset to the team and school. Hopefully, he has chosen a non-"football" major.

I really feel for the kid. I had my football career cut short during my junior year in college because of neck issues that led to the discovery of a congenital condition that had never been diagnosed. It still hurts to this day. I still played baseball... but Football was my passion. I really hurt for him. Chokes me up knowing how bad he is probably hurting right now. I had a bunch of great team mates that helped me get through it...I hope he does as well.

Kendrick tweeting about JJ. What's the issue with him now? Pouting or injury?

You and that Wylo ilk just can't stop projecting the worst toward others. Can you? It's clear that he's simply displaying sympathy for a teammate.

To you, Jack. It's rough I'm sure, young man. But you ARE young and you are a man, so don't ever let your dreams and ambitions define you. Instead, whatever else you do from hereon out, be sure you define it by who you are and not simply what you're doing. You're Jack Jones. Be proud of it.

That's gotta be depressing. Going from possibly making millions to maybe coaching high school football. Life sucks sometimes.

Jack’s Mom:

“Today, Coach Jones released the news that Jack has retired from playing football at The University of Tennessee. Our close friends & family have been traveling this difficult road with us this past week.
•
John & I took Jack to see a specialist last Thursday in Dallas due to on~going neck pain & numbness in his arms & hands that he has been playing with every game this season. We were given the news that he has a form of spinal stenosis....the same thing Cooper Manning, Peyton & Eli Manning’s big brother has, that prevented him from furthering his football career. We were told by a NFL physician, for Jack to continue one more down of football would potentially harm him... permanently. We immediately knew as a family, as much as we love football & the Vols, what our decision was...we value our son... & Jack’s quality of life was of utmost importance. We could never risk permanent nerve damage in his neck, arms & hands. We were broken by the news but also thankful that we found out before any permanent damage was done.
•
We have been watching our two sons, Jack & Pruitt, play football for 15 years, since they were five & six. I also know what a senior season would have meant to Jack...especially when things are so uncertain right now with the team. Everyone wants to play their senior year. I can sincerely say, growing up in Tennessee, I do not think, there is another player that loved his team more. It is one reason they relied on him so heavily during recruiting & one reason Coach Walt Wells referred to him as “a warrior” when we called to give him the news. Jack continued playing this year trying to please himself & all of us even though he was in severe pain & would experience days of numbness. He was hiding this from us & downplaying it & so once again, I say, I have gratitude for his health.
•
Jack handled the news Thursday so much better than John & I did. He continues to inspire me. He immediately listed things he could do now that student~athletes do not have the time for in college. He stayed positive. I know he will live this new season of college life as passionately as he did football. He was also deeply thankful he received help & had parents who pursued the answers & that he was spared from any permanent physical damage. With his joy for life & charisma, Jack will be fine. As a young boy, Jack always talked about playing college football & dreamed of playing for the Vols & he accomplished those dreams. More reason for gratitude.

Are we all looking at a huge hole in our lives? Yes! One can’t miss it, especially when it is bright orange and white😜 but we are forever grateful for our time with The University of Tennessee Football Program. We have met the absolute most wonderful student~athletes, football parents, coaches, coaches’ families, football personnel and Vol fans while being a part of the Vol Family.
•
We would like to thank Coach Butch Jones & his staff for recruiting Jack & for choosing Jack to be a VOLeader. Coach Jones could not have been any more compassionate when we called him with our news Thursday late night. We would like to thank Coach Don Mahoney & Coach Walt Wells who were Jack’s position coaches at UT. We would also like to thank Antone Davis for always being a supportive staff member within the football program. He is all heart. In addition, we would like to thank all of our family members, friends & the people of Murfreesboro who have supported Jack along the way.
•
We still have lots of season left & we will be attending the games with tender hearts. Once you meet the Vol Family, you fall in love with them & they need our love & support. Some of our dearest friends now are a part of the program & we still have two sons who attend UT, Jack Jones and Pruitt Jones...two of the most amazing people I know who are so much more than football players....they are interesting, cool, fun, wonderful human beings to be around so I look forward to following all of their next adventures on The Hill. Thanks for all of the love & support you give them & our family as you do the same.♥️🍊🏈💋 #govols #weheart66 ”

In the crap show going on around UT, this shows how some of the players feel. They don't care who the coach is, they love the University of Tennessee. Jack Jones, like me, loves the university, win or lose, crappy coach or not, til the day he dies; along with his family. I remember going to the playoff game with him and Jennings, and it was electric, because they were both going to UT. Man it's hard to see someone who loves Tennessee so much, not to get to play anymore. But it is awesome that they will remain die hard fans for life. VFL for sure. A lot can be learned from this family!

I can't say just yet but this is what I was referring to in his last thread please don't bash him this is serious.

I was afraid it was something like this. Noticed you posts pleading folks not to knock Jack cause they didnt know the whole story.

Jack Jones has been my favorite O-Lineman since i saw the wild savagery he was capable of as he battled fellow freshman andrew butcher during the Tennessee drill 3 years ago. I was so impressed and loved the fight I saw from those two young men.

Couldnt wait to see all their contributions in orange.

It's absolutely awful both careers were ended by injury.

My heart goes out to Jack Jones, I've always supported him, always screamed, "get Jones in there" when Butch was being Butch, cause I always knew Jack was gonna be Jack....an absolute badass that would fight like a madman.

Good luck Jack. Best wishes in all you do. A true VFL, and warrior, you'll remain one of my favorite vols forever.
