My support has nothing to do with making the playoff, etc. It stems from the respect I gained for the program and it's fans this season. Many Sooner fans feel the same way and are pulling for the Vols to beat the dogs.
I'm a longtime Sooners fan (1981 I saw my first OU game) and I can only remember 2 times that they striped the stadium:
2012 vs ND
This weekend vs UT
The first time, there was a ton of pushback from fans. They wanted to wear what THEY wanted to wear, not what the university asked them to...
Great post. I'm a diehard Sooner fan so I never think they are going to lose, well, at least not when we don't have a TE playing QB.
The only realists I pay attention to before a game are the ones who say "the game hasn't been played yet so anything can happen."
BUT, since I AM such a...
Of course there is. ESPN drives the polls and they have all that money invested in the SEC Network. Why do you think all those horrible Texas teams remained ranked for the past few years?
There's not a single team in the SEC that could come into Norman this weekend and be guaranteed to win.
SOS is purely based on opinion, just like polls. Only the SEC and ESPN actually believe that the SEC is the hardest conference to win in. Texas A&M and Misery proved that was a load of bull hockey.
I have respect for a few teams from the SEC, UT being one of them, but there are always 10...
Oh, now you want to bring out last year's stats. Of course OU had a low conversion rate. The starting QB for 2/3 of the season is now a TE.
Since you are being a jerk about it, the only real way we can do a comparison is based on competition each team played against. Based on UT's 2013...
It's obvious you get your information from ESPN. They are the only ones who say this. Anyone who has watched him knows he's the real deal. He my get a little over-excited once in a while and overthrow a receiver but he'll bounce back and break a 30 yard run on the next play Oh, and a little stat...
Discount those 2 games. The coaches were working on packages and timing. They never opened up the playbook, just played vanilla, just as UT did in their first 2 games.
Stoops had a chance once to 'hang a hundred' on Texas A&M. He called off the dogs at halftime the second and third string...
If the passing game tries to stay on the perimeter they are going to get burned. They'll stay away from Sanchez who has an interception in 4 straight games going back to last season.
Butch is a top notch coach and knows this. I would NOT be surprised to see most of the passes go across the...
I'd also like to mention that you guys played Utah State and Arky State your first two games. There's no way your coaches opened up the real playbook during those games. I can guarantee you they went as vanilla as possible so that they didn't show OU anything on the game tapes. I think you all...
