Can someone explain to me why Texas A&M would have the tie breaker if they beat Texas?

I agree, but the fact that there is nothing written into the committee's procedures about losers in the conference championship games tells me they have the power to make that determination themselves.

Can someone explain to me why Texas A&M would have the tie breaker if they beat Texas?

I don't think there is anything in writing about the loser of a conference championship game, but the SEC commissioner has told the committee that being in that game should be a reward. I would expect that the committee keeps the teams in the ranking before the championship weekend and just...

Can someone explain to me why Texas A&M would have the tie breaker if they beat Texas?

Here is the list of tie breakers on the SEC website: https://www.secsports.com/fbtiebreaker Assuming TN, GA, TX and A&M all end up at 6-2, I think the tie breaker goes all the way down to "D. Cumulative Conference winning percentage of all Conference opponents among the tied teams." since: A...

    TIME TO MOVE ON!!!

A little perspective may not hurt… USC is sitting at 7-4 with a returning Heisman trophy winner and likely the first NFL draft pick at QB. Joe has played better this year than he gets credit for. Frankly, I thought JM, Thornton Jr. and Samson were the only bright spots in the game yesterday.

    Let's talk about position groups..

Funny that no one mentions how we are still not recruiting with a full complement of scholarships… It is hard to have depth at any position if you have to rely on walk-ons.

    Watch.

Ha! Do you really think for a minute that, even if we could outplay UGA, that the SEC refs would allow it? The conference needs a team in the playoffs, and there is a decent chance that won't happen if UGA loses to us. I bet we have 20 penalties called on us next week.

    Alabama/Georgia

My choice would be seeing both Alabama and Georgia lose to Cincinnati. That way everyone loses… including Michigan (yes, I'm still jaded that Woodson won the Heisman).

Anybody get a number of how many flops there was last night?

Next week our defense should have an injury on every single Bama play, for four quarters. That is the only way to force Sankey to get his head out of his ass.

First Tennessee football game you attended

Vandy 1979. I was only 5, so I don't remember anything about the game. But I do remember Vandy running through our T at the beginning of the game (back when our locker room was under the east stands, visitor was in the south like it is today). Not long after that they moved our locker room to...

The most heartbreaking Tennessee Football loss according to you?

Our most heartbreaking loss without a doubt was David Cutcliffe. He was the offensive brain and disciplinarian of the program, and both of those areas started a slow decline when he left for the Ole Miss HC job. Most painful loss in the history of UT football IMO.
