Line Judge Brian Sakowski

They can be that bad when it's intentional to win a vegas bet. These refs should be investigated to see if they placed bets.
I wonder which app he uses, betmgm or Caesars

They arent that dumb.

Vegas books made 10s if not 100s of millions of $ off Tennessee losing. The line moved 10.5 points!!! From PU by 3 to UT by 7.5 points!!! That never happens. It means literally EVERYONE bet on us to win the game. Everyone.

So Vegas slips the refs a thumbdrive with Bitcoin $$$ on it. Untraceable. Can be used or cashed out anonymously in 1000 different ways. 0% chance of being traced back to the Casino/website/sportsbook who made gazillions of dollars due to everyone betting on UT.

Sad for our seniors. Their last game of football in their lives was stolen from them by 16 penalties and a blatant robbery.

His name should be known and associated with his very public work- in which he proudly touts that he “Routinely makes decisions which impact the outcome of games involving millions of dollars”. Turns out, he does exactly that.

His personhood should be respected - never threatened. We are UT fans. We are not idiotic brutalists.

Administrative correction it seems is overdue.

For those chomping at the bit, He went to Gannon undergrad and Masters from Pitt. No obvious connection to Purdue.

"...his personhood should be respected..."

What the heck is a personhood?

There is nothing about someone who seeks that kind of power and influence; and then abuses it, whether by incompetence or corruption, that should be respected.

If you want to make decisions that impact things of that magnitude then you better be ready for the crapstorm that should come with accountability.

That said, the head official is even worse. He got to see it in slow motion and upheld it.

Maybe their personhood could be respected in another dimension of reality.

Let me make it easy for you. Don’t threaten the guy. That would be an unintelligent, unbecoming action.

Hold him accountable in his profession. That’s it.

Happy New Year. Go Vols.

The guy is corrupt and I hope stupid too. If he had a financial interest in the outcome of that game, and from his profile on LinkedIn he is aware of the gambling associated with college football and the impact his calls have on the outcome of games, I hope someone much smarter than me finds it out and he is held accountable both professionally and criminally.

Officials should never influence the end of a game they should have not called it or said he was down or not review would have showed he was not down and it was a touchdown. The line spots earlier in the game slows down our offense if we have to review and most times they don't get reviewed the pass interference caused 1 td because they made the DB's gun shy and then they know the refs are against them and they thought the tightend was out of bounds and stopped playing that was another touchdown. The last one is up in the air.

The refs were pretty friendly with the Purdue Sideline

Making fun of the linesman is justified but this side judge is the one who killed us the whole game with his interference calls from 30 yards behind the play. Also missed the hold on the next to last play in regulation.

Those are actually normal words that make sense. Regrettably, I can't find anything to make fun of in that quote.

But to your point about what is intelligent and what is becoming: how do you propose to deal with fraud committed against a person's interest when the conferences have shown there's no accountability? That is what torques fans, conferences have done nothing to improve the situation: no punative discipline nor technological alternatives.

I cannot think of a single instance where true discipline was administered against a rogue or incompetent official. Nothing commiserate with the damages they caused. A quiet two month suspension is a freaking joke. Fine a crew $250k for an offense of this magnitude and then we'll talk.

As to the supposed threats (I read nothing in that thread that actually rose to the level of a true threat), better that fans blow off steam than take real "unintelligent and unbecoming" action. If corrupt governing bodies continue to do nothing, some idiot(s) will take it upon themselves and people wind up either in the hospital or the morgue. Look no further than Alabama fans poisoning trees and shooting family members over losses.

Can’t disagree with anything you say. Real, meaningful punitive damage for “malpractice” in officiating would be good to see.

I actually have been in his shoes many times and can say with certainty that he absolutely blew this call. Getting to the top in refereeing is political. I am guessing he is a son, nephew, brother or cousin of a high up decision maker somewhere. He had zero business working a fame of this magnitude and was constantly making mistakes a lower tier official would be in trouble over. He was horrible from start to finish. No pass interference when it was obvious, calling pass interference when it was not there and worst of all taking a touchdown off the board. I would not want to work high school ball with someone who can’t stand on the goal line and wait to see if the ball crosses the line. I would be shocked if he ever referees a high level game again but then again it is political

Well figure out who the political people are that get him places.

Get their address and?
