A columnist's job is to write opinion pieces, not pump up or sugar coat the local team's success or lack thereof. I think he's pretty objective on what he writes and talks about regarding UT and that's his job, like it or not.

It'll be a lot easier to recruit to Tennessee than OSU, IMO. Even the last decade of donkey UT coaches still put together decent classes.

You really need to explain this. His record is fantastic, has won the conference title, and let's not pretend OSU is some kind of perennial powerhouse all time.

Seriously, if UT brass is willing to pay for a proven coach.. why do you care how much it costs? That's the logic that makes no sense to me. You want a good coach but expect them to come solely because we are Tennessee? That's a good way to never make a good hire.

So everyone was ok with just throwing $9mm to only pay off Campbell's buyout but now the money is scaring you off? Who cares, do you want to win or save someone else's money? Mike Gundy is an outstanding coach. Go get him.
