Agreed. I think Blaine Brown will factor in there too. He has tons of untapped potential on the mound that Frank will tap into.

Just depends. Garrett Wright has shuffled around a lot - C/OF/3rd. Marin has played 2nd/SS/3rd. Newstrom has played IF & OF. Ford has been in center from the jump. Sometimes it depends on the team’s needs. Sometimes a college coach will make suggestions on where to play a guy in order to...

Yes, Ford has been playing center field and hitting leadoff for Chatham. Has a lot more speed than what you would typically think with someone who plays 1B. My comp would be Jace Laviolette as far as size, speed, and range. Staff could decide to play Abernathy/Brown in center, but Ford has shown...

He has been tearing it up in the cape as well. Both he and Clark’s bats need to be in the lineup next year in some combo.

Blanco will be great here. Tony and the staff really know how to evaluate these guys. Sometimes adversity, physically or mentally, can lead to a bad season (ie. Doyle’s high ERA at Ole Miss). Here is a game from a few days ago in the Cape Cod League. A solid 5 innings of work. You can really see...

Clark could make a big jump catching in the offseason. He has been catching a good bit in the cape. Also, Garrett Wright has caught, played in the outfield, and has even played some 3rd this summer. He will be very versatile.

    Summer ball 2025

Just bringing some observations as I watch some of these summer league games. Henry Ford has played every game in center field so far in the cape. And recently he has been hitting leadoff. Not sure where he will slot for us if he makes it to campus, but there is plenty of athleticism there. Has...

Landon Mack had a great outing in the USA Collegiate National Team scrimmage the other day. Lots to be excited about. Mixes speeds very well and has movement on every pitch. Struck out Roch Cholowsky (first batter he faced), who is a potential 1/1 pick in next year’s draft. Mack came in the...

Great post Wally. I totally agree with you. The higher ups realize that ticket sales will plummet next year if Dooley is kept. And like you said, a guy like Smart will not create big time excitement in the program. I am a Dooley fan and always will be, but I'm afraid that his time is up. Time to...

Agreed. I just know that we are not going to settle for anything less than the best this time. We get rid of Dooley, we have to bring in a huge name. I am willing to bet that money is NOT an issue on this one

In OCI I trust. Hope you're right man. I've been pulling for Dooley to do great things, but I think it's time to take the same big step Alabama did a few years ago. I really feel that our AD will go out and get the best coach money can buy

    Bray's overthrows...

Don't worry, he's gonna pull a Fulmer and work like heck to get better haha. In all seriousness though, TB will be fine. The few bad throws he had were just a part of the game. The defense got to him a couple of times before he wanted to throw it, resulting in an over throw. Bray had been known...

    Bray's overthrows...

Well besides the throw aways, I only saw a few bad balls and they were caused by tons of pressure. Bray had an awesome game and has many more to come

    Bray's overthrows...

If you knew anything about football you would know that 5 or 6 of those throws were "throw aways" because of the receiver being well covered. The old Bray would have forced the ball. The new Bray either spiked it at the receiver's feet or threw it 10 feet over his head and out of bounds...
