My only complaint with Bray was his overthrows Friday. Watching him, I saw the problem I believe. If you watch his overthrows, he gets too low on his throws when he has time. Bray has such a cannon, and when he uses his legs to power up, it can lead to overthrows. If you notice when he is pressured, the touch is better and he's more upright.

I don't think it's a big deal, but I believe it kind of answers why he can overthrow his receiver bad.

You are kidding, right?

Take away the two throw aways and the dropped balls and he almost threw for 80%.

Yea, his mechanics were interesting on a couple of occasions, but his arm strength tends to mask it a little. He even did this with some throws that worked out well.

Easily fixable, IMO.

Hmm. He was right on the money with 2 deep balls and they were both touchdown passes. I'm not sure I could even complain about that.

If you knew anything about football you would know that 5 or 6 of those throws were "throw aways" because of the receiver being well covered. The old Bray would have forced the ball. The new Bray either spiked it at the receiver's feet or threw it 10 feet over his head and out of bounds. Excellent decision making by TB

I wasn't talking about throw aways. I know the difference. And he missed a couple guys on overthrows. I was simply suggesting that the overthrows were caused by him getting too low and using too much leg power to go with his arm strenght.

You guys are seriously overreacting to this.

Well, with respect, I think a thread dedicated to brays overthrows is more overreacting than people responding.

It was just something I noticed and see if people agree. A couple did, and then some overreacted. I really don't get the big deal. I already said it won't be an issue.

Well besides the throw aways, I only saw a few bad balls and they were caused by tons of pressure. Bray had an awesome game and has many more to come

You're the one who writes the Postgame reports for basketball, right? I always find your posts to be quite insightful and very fun to read.

That's why I was surprised when I saw this post. I didn't really see any overthrows of that sort Friday night from Bray. None of note, anyway. And yet I know you're not just some idiot coming on here trying to piss people off. So I'm sure you're right. Your opinion carries value for me, so I'll be watching for this carefully next week against Georgia State.

That's not how this forum works.
You noticed something there you are either a negaVol or a Doolite.
Which is it?

I agree Bray had a great game. If he can correct that little mechanical flaw, he'll even be better (scary thought).

he overthrew Hunter going rt to left in the middle of the field, but I'm not sure if there was a communication issue with JH "sitting down" or bray may have thought he was heading up field, and he overthrew JH on the near the goalline with an out pattern.

Bray had a couple get away, but nothing that should worry anyone.

He's gonna need to complete a high % and take care of the ball when we get into the SEC. He looked pretty comfortable Fri.

I didn't really notice. I thought most of his throws were dead on and Hunter dropped them.

Thanks, and I appreciate it.

I think I saw two, maybe three. And my biggest concern is he will overthrow a guy and it will get tipped and then picked. Other than that, Bray was perfect and it was awesome to see him hitting checkdowns/throwing it away.
