No I'm not sure where I saw it but they were saying if they won out they would be third in the conference and if they won a game or two in the tournament they deserved to get in.

Those were posters on here, their RPI wasn't good enough, they pretty much would've had to win out. Conference standings don't mean $hit as far NCAA at large bids go.

Hart has recently sat down with several of the bigger boosters one on one. He is listening to what they have to say. Just gives little reciprocation regarding the situation. Tifwiw, the chances I was told were minimal at best. Its basically been some businessmen presenting their cases, Hart listening, then moving on.
At least he is talking, or at least listening.

So LWS was right in that chances are ~5%

A guess is never right until it becomes fact. The AD is going to make the fans show him they are serious by staying away in droves.

I personally find nothing more to my distaste than to have someone force me to do something that is reasonable.

Martin disgruntled about extension---looking around? Martin should be disgruntled, something is not right, the fan base is exhausted, Pearl act hard to follow especially with his personality and interaction with supporters. His personality is kind of dry.

People are more forgiving these days and everybody wants flash and bang. Nothing personal but you are not going to get that with Martin. Has no bearing on his ability to coach. Having Dooley for 3 years doesn't help they almost look like mirrors of each other with the exception of the Dooley jokes and blowing off everybody.

Conversations with Boosters....wonder how that is going.
I could understand that at this time chances would be minimal at best. We are not out of the season, the SEC tourney or NCAA or NIT (God Forbid)

The petition has gotten the attention it warranted. I am sure the President's and AD offices have been clutter with emails, letters and phone calls. What's funny is that I haven't seen any Media outlet or Coach or former players address it in a negative light (exception Stallings).

Days of Our Vols Life, we have had some serious drama these past 8 years and the saga continues.

Well ~18k there yesterday doesn't show Hart the fans are serious, and yesterday was their 2nd to last chance to make a statement.

If Tennessee beats auburn I'm guessing you'll have 18k+ again for the season finale. Not bad at all.

The crowd was there yesterday to honor a great vol, not some roadside wanabe coach.

What about verse South Carolina? There was 17k+ at that one to watch us play the worst team in the league?

And like I said, watch what the numbers are for Missouri.

I know you think everyone wants him gone, but I gotta tell you, the support at games is only making it easy for Hart to justify retaining him.

Witch Doctor believe booster(the pro Pearl) ones on occasion have said things to Hart.
But really what could he say at the point? if he confirms or denies...well lets face it IF someone DOES get some tidbid..no one can keep a secret. look at this way..NO CONFIRMED source(not hating, just stating) has said 100% they know or THEY were told by Hart. everyone has left them self an OUT..at this point no one knows..really. Its his call. Hes not dumb to any of this, look at his MO, hes a professional, he aint gonna say somthing that makes him look foolish later maybe. Hes not going to say a word till after the season, his words are on a national stage and in print. really could it be any other way at this point?. hes told no one. A season has to end a things have to happen.
Ok are we reposting that link? lol
BBB
Bones never lie.
(PS by saying that I dont mean hes decided on Pearl or keeping Martin. Just for those who say they know, ask yourself how could they?..really how could they?) the seasons not over and Harts not going to be talking about another coach..someone tell me different. Witch Doctor will listen.)

besides its we as fans whom add juicy details to cut and dry decisions made in the AD depts. lol its business. Plus Harts not going to give a false sign of support for Martin either...hes not saying much about that also.

I don't disagree with this at all...could be more than 18k and should be....

Those that chose Not to support the team or coach at this point and time, is the last group of people you want in charge of change. This group would be only interested in their self gratification and not what is best for the players or university.

Boycotting the games and non support of the team is not the answer at this time because all it does is shows non support to the players.

People think the petition is not working well it is accomplishing what it was designed to do. Apply pressure, show disgruntlement, and raise awareness that the AD with Cheek need to address this.

What I heard is basically a mutual thing, he ain't happy, we ain't happy. He's been looking around since last spring. Felt disrespected because of no extension last year.

Where did his post say anything about this?

I did not imply that Spartacus stated it, just alluded to the msg board comment quoted above.

Do you think a change would be made if the books balanced out satisfactorily but the team was consistently average?

In the past If would not be a problem, this years team shouldn't be in this predicament to begin with but we are.

Yes.....I think a change will be made.

Hart got burnt on allowing another year for Dooley with the assistant coaching changes versus termination. I don't believe he will make the same mistake twice. Problem is at this point the whole body of work is not complete but will be when we play our last game of the season.

Not giving him an extension and throwing him a $50k raise was the first notice sent to CCM.

I share this opinion. Hypothetically, if he's retained, do you think fans should not renew season tix in order to affect change?

What does that have to do with my post?

The if statement....if we beat Auburn should never have been a factor in this years attendance or NCAA.

At the first of this season you looked at this game as an absolute win or not go to the tournament then you knew something that many did not.

If this game affects attendance to the Mo game which I think it will if we lose to Auburn. This game with Auburn is a factor which should have never been.
