Petition to rehire Bruce Pearl

I really don't care. He made a mistake because he wanted to win. No one cares! Keep the compliance office all over him 24/7 and bring him home. Because I'm ready to win again.

can you name a coach who committed a violation because he wanted to lose?

Let's see..

Kentucky Wildcats - Most storied program in the NCAA. 1 death penalty, almost another death penalty and were just waiting for whatever falls out of Calipari's dress. C'mon.

North Carolina - Academic failure. So bad that even their chancellor admits they failed to do their duty.

Wichita State - Likely a 1 seed this season but notorious for being a dirty program back in the day.

Wisky - Solid program but probably the most dirty program of the 80s.

The list could go on and on and on and I almost guarantee most of the younger or new fans had no idea about plenty of them.

My point is....Hire whoever helps you win. I don't think people should cheat but Tennessee is not wrong or should be criticized for hiring someone who lied to the NCAA when they served their time. I don't care for Bruce as much as a lot of people but if he's our best option....we should get him.

That's fine. That's your opinion and it's a perfectly valid stance. Just stop insulting our intelligence trying to minimize what actually happened and turning Bruce Pearl into Gandhi.

I acknowledge what he did, but 1 mistake doesn't make him hitler either. Nor should it make us not consider him because no one is better at being CBP than CBP. And what our program needs right now: energy, excitement, and wins.....is Bruce Pearl.

What happens if we hire Bruce back and then we still suck?

I'm all for Bruce btw. But talk about embarrassing lol.

Exactly. Reason why I want the best coach we can get. If Bruce is it...i'm all for it but I think there is plenty of other coaches out there.

I'm glad to know Burger King has such high standards.

Your petty insults put you squarely in the limited intelligence category. But I'll stoop for just a moment. When you get to big lots for your afternoon shift tell that last pos I terminated internal security says hi.

Again . . . I fully understand that point of view. Unfortunately, it's just not that simple for a lot of us when the mistake involved misleading the university and the NCAA.

So you work security for big lots?

I understand that. What I don't understand is the "we should never consider him mentality". To me it would be like your son lying about doing his homework, and then you telling him you hope he enjoys living in the streets, because he is never welcome here again!

In Pakistan, they'd just cut his hand off :)

I think it would be more accurate to say it's like your accountant getting caught lying to the IRS. Do you let him do your taxes as soon as he gets his license back?

How good of an accountant was he, and did he lie in an effort to save me a dime?

You make the decision to bring the moral supremacy of your position into this, so what is it you do?

I actually said what I do in a couple posts back I just didn't say who I do it for. No sense bringing the company into our friendly debate. In a way I wish I could over look what BP did, but I can't I'm just not wired that way.

The messed up part of that logic is that there is literally no other reason anyone lies to the IRS except to save money. No coach lies to the NCAA or breaks the rules except to gain an advantage and win more. In a twisted way, by your logic, every rule breaker is heroic.

It blows my mind how quick people are to dismiss the possibility that there are other coaches that can do the job without the risk.

How big is the actual risk? It's not like he had a long history of minor violations lane Kiffin style .
