This is good. Over 20,000. I think a lot thought it may make it to 10k to 15k and would just die. Is it a voice right now probably a squeak double it and it becomes a roar.

May not make it to 50,000 but is 40,000 obtainable I hope so. This is not a reflection of CCM, I like him more than I ever cared for Dools. think he is a good man but I a change is needed and it's nothing personal. It's just business.

Pearl, I hate to break it to some of you is the right answer; as fans, we are never going to see what would of or could of should of have been if he is not hired.

Just hope the administrative side of this sees it through and takes the risk. Hart is a basketball guy so he knows and it will rest on his shoulders to convince the other part of this equation.

Im dying to find out whats being/been said at Sportsfest by Pearl and the local media..you know they are dying to ask questions..yes its early but I still say (though I throw up a little in my mouth to say it..lol) Im going to be listening very close to C Travis this week. maybe it means nothing but ole Witchie curious. Pearl had a chance to kill it and thank the fans for the continued support with the guy who wrote the piece and started all this..nothing said by either, not a crumb..thats not Pearl and thats not Travis, he(Pearl) wines and dines with the boosters regularly and works for one..someone around him surely knows how to take a pulse around the AD dept(?) again, maybe nothing? lol

All the Hart Cheek stuff is just sports board fodder..no basis.(no one ever gave us links?) Witchie wont hold his breath for that lol.Hart fired the people who was attempting to run the place and that ran Hamilton off. Cheek Hired Hart, no way he didnt know going in hed have to clean house immediately..what does that REALLY say about Cheek? hmm. Hes here to win, his actions show that. He may not hire Pearl, but he cant be dismissive of this. hes not stupid either. this Pearl talk just isnt on this board...its comical to listen to some on here squirm their words trying to act as if it does because they dont like Pearl. Full TBA. concessions, luxury suites and happy fans run a successful AD dept..

Same here WD. The local radio near Nashville switched to racing coverage and Fox Sports crap when the Sports Fest started. I haven't checked Twitter yet, but they haven't covered today like they did yesterday.

Witch Doctor say the interview on 104.5 was very very controlled, WD opinion. Clay Travis not following up on his own piece? dont see it. no way no how Hes too loud mouth(thats his part on the show...yes these things are contrived ) he would have at least agitated a little..

Can someone definitively answer for me what the situation is regarding CBP's show cause situation? I can't figure out from reading these boards if he's even eligible for hire before August, and if he is eligible, what the potential consequences to the University are.

I'll hang up and listen, thanks.

A college can hire Pearl, but he can't recruit until Aug. 24, 2014. No sanctions for hiring him.

Could UT hire an interim coach (i.e., someone that Pearl wants as an assistant) and officially hire Pearl the day his show cause ends?

I mean, recruits, fans, and players would know Pearl is coming back. The 2014-2015 season would probably suck, given the talent level and his minimal preseason coaching, but it would be worth it.

There's much more than that. The university would be walking a thin line if they hired Pearl before the show cause was up. Besides having the NCAA camping in our backyard and it being heavily frowned upon, he'd be restricted not only in recruiting but I'm certain there's other things outlined in it.

That is what I would guess. Pearl could assemble a staff, have an intern coach to recruit and keep the team together and then take over when he's officially announced. We would know what happens in that case if an intern coach is hired.

Having the NCAA camped out in our backyard is just a saying coined by the Pearl haters because they have to remain absent malice or they can get their pants sued off. Pearl may have the show cause removed by then anyway since it was over penalized to begin with.

I think that's possible but not something that could be counted on. What really bothers me about the Pearl firing is that he wasn't just fired for hosting Juniors at his house and lying about it. If that was the case he would have been fired in September of 2010. A new contract was being discussed well after that. He was fired because the NCAA's Committee on Infractions blind sided Tennessee by including an accusation of a "bump" at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia in it's notice of infractions inquiry that involved a recruit named Jordan Adams. That was total BS, however and the NCAA didn't pursue it at the June 2011 hearing and even acknowledged that they had no evidence to support that accusation. So why did they include it in their written list of findings to UT? Because they wanted to shame us into firing Pearl and we had an AD that was weak and could be bullied.
