The republican base is far too divided. Far too many votes will be given to third party candidates, votes that would have otherwise gone to the GOP. The damn democrats will probably win again

No, you like to paint yourself as a "moderate" when in reality you are pretty far left, liberal. I believe, no I know there are far more conservative voters out there than liberal. The problem with the Republican party is the conservative voters are split. The party continues to run Democrats in disguise and continues to lose because votes (large amounts) are siphoned off by third party candidates.

The people, majority of people are desirous of a conservative candidate that they can vote for. I haven't done the math but who would have one this past elections with a united conservative vote? How many people stayed home because the choice was between liberal 1 and liberal 1a?

He forgot that one is either a neocon or progressive. There is no middle ground. Black or white. Either with you or against you.

And there is your problem. The Tea Party movement like most grass root polical movements, once they gain some traction they are hijacked. Not all conservatives belong or support the Tea Party, I for one do not.

Let me give you my definition of a moderate. A person that votes for their own benefit regardless of the lasting consequences. To me that is worse than a liberal, at least a liberal has some principle.

Anyone that does not fall in step with your views is a liberal. If you think for one minute there are enough members of the Republican base to nominate a far right wing candidate and that base be strong elect to elect that candidate in the general you simply dont have a clue. Look at the numbers, it is 4th grade math.
As far as moderates go, it is a growing block of votes. No Dem nor Republican can win the general without some moderate support. Why do you think Rand Paul is already moving slightly to the middle?
Per you definitions of a lib he is a lib. He hit the Sunday talk shows a few weeks ago promoting that congress should compromise.

Compromise on what? Just for the sake of doing something? Name something the conservatives should compromise on that is being proposed by this administration.

Paul said that on many bills the two sides agree on 70-80%. They should pass what they agree on instead of doing nothing.

In you mind does that make him a liberal?

If not why, you keep calling GOP leaders that show any signs of working with the other side as selling out and call them libs.

To libs compromise is voting for whatever they put up to the vote in Congress. Compromise isn't working with republicans to them! I'm sick of republicans cow towing to the democraps and voting for what they put up out of fear that they wont be liked and invited to parties in DC.

Your problem is you do not hold the other side to the same standard. Why is so hard to find compromise on the hill? Easy, the Dems in the house and Senate are in lockstep with the POTUS who WILL NOT COMPROMISE! They cannot find common ground that will not get vetoed, Harry Reid will not let legislation come to the floor that he know the POTUS will not sign off on.

Compromise is fine, but it takes both sides and you only ever mention one as needing to bend!

Do you agree with the riders put in on bills going through Congress? Or should the bill be specific to what the name is? I.E. Orange subsidies legislation should have specifics to orange subsidies and not funding for a study of the spotted jumping Oregon field mouse and a bridge in Texas.
