Boy, 16, suffers ruptured testicle 'during police pat-down' and may be infertile | Mail Online

Philadelphia police have launched an internal investigation after a teenager allegedly suffered a ruptured testicle during a pat-down.

Darrin Manning, 16, was with a group of teammates on their way to an after-school basketball game at 15th and Girard Streets when he was stopped by police officers.

Manning says he was handcuffed and patted down by a female police officer, who grabbed and pulled his genitals. He underwent emergency surgery the following day.

Kentucky State Police Begin Operation R.A.I.D.

Not only just texting, but any distracting drivers. This includes eating and drinking. We are going to be out looking for those people. You're going to see a major force when it comes time for St. Patrick's Day weekend and holiday weekends," said Trooper Biven, Kentucky State Police.
so now you can get pulled over for eating/drinking in your car. Of course that's not illegal but they'll pull you over anyways

Most people will just pay the tickets without going to court. Just another revenue drive using LEO.

So what are they going to be ticketed for?

I'd take my chances and go to court to try to get this kind of activity overturned.

They can always find a reason to write a ticket, a BS one or not. Doesn't cost them anything. Just costs you to fight it.

Depends on who they will be targeting. Out of state drivers would be my guess.

Here ya go Hog. Shows that the legal system doesn't always take the police side:

Texas Man Who Killed Police Officer During No-Knock Raid Will NOT Face Murder Charge – Grand Jury Refuses To Indict… | The Last Refuge

I'm sure VolMav will have to clean his screen off after reading that.

My father was lawyering a case in the 80's when a man wounded two officers after they busted down his door unannounced while attempting to raid his house for coke. The coke was there, but he ended up walking strictly because they came in unannounced.

Point being, situations where preliminary protocol is broken isn't so much an issue of morality as some of the other examples used in this thread are.

McGee admitted to shooting Sowders before sunrise on December 19th while the deputy and other investigators were serving a no knock search warrant for drugs at McGee’s mobile home near Snook.

I've said it's time to put an end to no knock warrants. The only justification for using them is if there's a wanted violent felon. I wouldn't have indicted this guy, either. And if I'm on that jury, I'd use nullification. If I couldn't convince the other jurors to acquit, I'd hang the jury.

I don't agree with no knock raids unless in certain circumstances either. As much for the protection of the officers and well as the person being raided. There have been too many situations where the wrong address was raided and both the parties could have been seriously injured or worse.

I think the only time they should be allowed is when it's a kidnap/hostage situation.

Not to mention without announcing yourself, the person on the other end can rightfully claim self defense of a home invasion as their defense.

I'm retired firefighter. Got a call one night to a person shot. We get there and and outside the Apartment is 6-7 these long haired thuggish looking guys that point to an open door that has been kicked in. We walk in and a guy is on the floor with more than a few gunshots to the body, a 22 rifle on the floor a few feet away No pulse, no breathing, so we start CPR on him till the ambulance got there. While they took him away I looked at the scene to try to figure out what happened. The 22 rifle was not loaded in fact it was inoperable. Where the guy was laying on the floor, He not only had multiple gunshot wounds the carpet around his body had several chunks ripped out of it where they shot and missed while he was clearly down. Then all the thug looking guys come into the apartment which kinda scared me until I realised they were the police. I'll always believe they killed this guy for nothing. The paper said they suspected him of being a big drug pusher. No drugs or money were found. His family said he didn't sell or use drugs. Bad boy, bad boy, what you gonna do when they come for you.

There have been more than a few reports of home invasions posing as cops in recent memory. What better or easier way of getting into someone's house than announcing yourself as a raid team?
