Preemptive Grammys Gay Marriage Thread

It's happening...

Can you feel it?

A gay couple got married yesterday.

Going to happen today too, and tomorrow.

Soon, like slavery and womens suffrage - your bigoted views will be a nothing more than a skid mark on American history. Generations will shake their heads in shameful disbelief when they look back at how you used christianity as a moral compass.
I bet most blacks would consider slavery a bit thicker and wetter than a skid mark...

Christians just need to stop acting like they invented and own marriage.

Most people usually don't care. I think when it starts become something of a circus side show act is when it starts bothering people. I didn't watch the grammys, in fact I don't watch any of those awards shows. But the whole thing from what I have read comes off as being offensive. Not offensive in the "I hate dem gays" offensive but more like "Hey lets exploit some people to make a spectacle and grab some buzz/ratings". It just seemed to me to be rather exploitative.

However, you cannot spell Grammys without Gay..so I guess it was meant to be.

I understand this sentiment. I don't doubt it was all done for attention, and it worked because here we are talking about it. But again, if you were watching in the first place, you deserve whatever you end up seeing. Those awards shows are made so the industry can pat themselves on the back. Super lame.

Twenty three is starting to feel over the hill IMO

I know a bunch of people my age who already got married and more power to them, but I've got a lot more years of freedom left in me I think.. :)

:good!: No rush to get hitched and thats a good plan. I made that mistake and I have seen others do it as well. Every time one of my friends was getting married I was like "eehh ok you sure??" Being married young, divorcing young, and regaining my freedom was an eye opener.

Some girl will eventually trick you into it though.

Agreed. Mizz Flicka attempts to bring it up once in a while and I just tell her to shut up and pour me a bourbon.

Truth. I don't get watching award shows for..shows..If you are in the business like my friend is I can see it but for the average person I dunno. I find most pop culture on TV pretty horrible so I don't watch much of it unless its Archer, SouthPark, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Soccer, Football.

Reality tv is nauseating.

Yep. My gf thankfully wants nothing to do with marriage either, so I should be good for now. Though she said she was gonna scratch her name on my back(she's a tattoo artist) and mark her territory when I'm passed out drunk so I'm getting mixed signals..

Will she allow you to urinate on her? .....To mark your territory, of course?

I just don't think the world should have to change to cater to a few. Not sure why accepting that marriage is between a man & woman is so hard. You're not asking for equality you're trying to redefine something to cater to you. Be gay. Be happy. Whatever. I'm not gonna lose sleep over whatever happens I'm just stating how I feel. Not trying to being a homophobe just not for gay marriage. I hate liberal agendas.

Wasn't Jesus in the minority when He changed the world? Yet you firmly support Christianity. Hard to find merit in an arguement you don't truly believe.

The "majority" of society are normally cattle, content to sit back and accept that what is, is. All change is started by the "few" you speak of. What I see in your arguement is someone who doesn't want change because a book, editted more times than can be counted throughout the centuries, vaguely suggests homosexuality is wrong. Your arguement is based entirely on your religious view, which you are in turn trying to enforce upon others. Is it your opinion that Christianity and Christian beliefs should be enforced upon everyone, or just gay people?

And accepting marriage is between a man and a woman? Why is it so hard for you to see that there are same sex couples desiring to make the same lifelong committment to a partner, who have made such a lifelong commitment to each other, and all they want is to be treated equally, not better, to how a man/wife married couple is treated, receiving the same govt benefits/rights.

"You're not asking for equality you're trying to redefine something to cater to you." So civil rights leaders weren't really seeking equality? The end of segregation wasn't about equality, it was about redefining the system that existed to cater to black people? Do you seriously not see the folly of your arguement?

Instead of offering up flimsy excuse after flimsy excuse, and screaming liberal agenda, just own up to the fact you are intolerable of the homosexual lifestyle.

Are you say Jesus is gay or Jesus would approve of gay marriage? I just read first sentence

* read last paragraph too. Hell no civil rights leaders don't want equality & the self proclaimed ones now damn sure don't either. All they wanna do is continually promote racism & piss & moan about everything. If you think it's about equality you're a moron. They want something above equality which is why you have affirmative action & s****
