Its acceptable on this planet because every human being is different. Not everybody likes and accepts the same thing. There are those who believe gay marriage should be legal and those who believe it should be illegal. WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT.
It would not upset me at all if they would give me a negative opinion in return. Thats the point. They are allowed to give their opinion. If I told a group of homosexuals that their lifestyle is disgusting, so what? They can get mad at me or whatever. Thats fine. That is the point you obviously cannot grasp. My opinion does not reflect the general public or anyone else. It just reflects me.
Did you just reach in to your buzz word grab bag and pick out words you think might somehow apply?
I asked how it would affect you and your personal relationship, specifically.
Yet, you've managed to deflect again.
The fact is, you know as well as I do that two random people (who happen to be gay) getting married and sharing benefits won't affect you any more than two random straight people getting married and sharing the benefits.
I imagine you fall into the same category of those that hide behind biblical "abomination" crap when really, deep down, you're against it because you think it's icky and its you're way of sticking it to them.
I actually feel pity for you.
What you don't get is you are not just offering an opinion. You advocate laws that would infringe on their freedom to enjoy the same benefits and priveleges, and essentially stand on equal ground with you. Have whatever opinion you want, but leave people alone.
Jesus never advocated the use of government to force morality on others. Government is not moral. If you rely on government and the law to create a moral society you are not going to be happy with the result.

Figures you would find a way to bash religion in your post.lol: As I have stated, someone giving their opinion about gay marriage is not acceptable anymore.
I have left everybody else alone. I am not out picketing saying that the gay lifestyle is disgusting. I am not going online posting all kinds of anti-gay marriage crap. Yes I do advocate those things you said but I keep it to myself. The only time I say what I feel is when I am asked about it. If we were to meet and you asked me my stance about gay marriage, I would tell you it is disgusting and wrong. You would probably call me something derogatory. Guess what? We are both voicing our own opinions.
Now if i were a staunch advocate that created anti-gay marriage groups and paraded my beliefs onto the public then you would have a leg to stand on. However since I do none of those things you're totally wrong. This thread was created so people could give their opinions about the gay marriage at the Grammy's. Who in the hell gave you the authority to tell people they cannot give their opinion on an internet message board?
You keep saying it, it's your right. But you'll be mocked because it's as repugnant as sating black people should sit at the back of the bus and women shouldn't have the right to vote.
If you don't like your religion being "bashed", stop hiding behind the bible like a moral shield.
Honestly, I don't give a damn what your opinion is or how you voice it. I care that you attempt to use the law to prevent the freedom of others.
Human beings deserve freedom, so long as they don't use that freedom to cause direct harm to others.
This is your opinion about me. Thats fine by me. You have finally grasped my point. Also just so you know, I have never voted against any kind of gay marriage. So I am not attempting anything.
Did you just imply that the liberal agenda is fighting for a basic tenant of what makes this republic great?
And here I thought you didn't like liberals.
We all really know it comes down to religious beliefs. These people try to hide that aspect because they recognize separation of church and state is actually a thing, so they rant about how the family unit is being destroyed by the gay mafia and that's why the country is going downhill.
Just be honest with yourselves and admit your opposition to gay marriage is religion based, and has absolutely nothing to do with the constitution or fiscal accountability. Please, spare us from the ring around. I actually respect those who admit that more than the people who try to fabricate arguments in an attempt to make it seem like religion has nothing to do with their opinions.
Marriage is basic. Union between man & woman. It was 200+ years ago when our "republic" was founded & thousands of years before. Of course if it was as basic as you wanna believe it should've happened long before now.
