'14 TN DE Jashon Robertson (UT Signee 2/5/14)

yes. i dont know why you think hes slow. he sure doesnt look like it. his highlight film looks sick and he posted great stats for a DT. hes a position of need, instate and best friends with Hurd.

i feel like youre star gazing a little bit

Star gazing huh. I never look at stars. One of my good friends was a 2* star and is now in the NFL. The honey badger wasn't highly rated, nor Manziel, or RG3. I'm a firm believer for going after in-state talent, but i just do not see were he can help us. Hell Vickers was a 3* and do you think that he will ever do anything at UT? Because someone is available right before signing day doesn't mean we have to sign them. There will be more DT's in the next class

Vickers is a redshirt freshman. give the kid a chance. South Carolina thought he was pretty good too. they do pretty well with DL

Well thanks for the insight there. I guess we will just have to accept his commitment and hope he is better than the apparently horrible Kendal Vickers if I understood that....whatever that was :good!:

it seems like you think im the stargazer here.

yeah, we could take more DTs next year, but we need them now. i dont get why you are so against taking this kid. Cory Thomas looks like hes gone. Other coaches have him looking at depth charts.

I didn't say Vickers was horrible. I said that he would never do anything.

Well, if he's anything like your crybaby friend Montori then you're probably right, but being that I've met him and he's driven.. that isn't a possibility. There's reasons he didn't succeed here, and it isn't because of talent, but more-so the kind of work ethic and personality he has/had.

But you're entitled to your opinion, no matter how outlandish it is, but saying a kid who has been on campus ONE YEAR isn't going to do anything based on, well, nothing at all, is pretty absurd.

booooooooooooooommmmmmmmm b****

I really hope we do not get this guy. I understand we need help at the DT spot, but Robertson is not our answer. He is too slow and i know coaching can fix that, but we do not need to make a gamble on a project player.

There are rarely guarantee's in college football, for every 2 star that's worked out there is a 5 star that has failed. Your logic is ridiculous, and even more so it is ridiculous.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

:clapping: couldn't have said it any better..

How do you know if Vickers will do anything?

He doesn't he has no clue what he is talking about. Just trying to stir ____ up and it's quite funny.

^^^^ is just a complete mess. Comparing star power but at the same time saying that Robertson can't get it done, based on nothing at all. Wait, you're right, maybe our coaches should just take their info from you and put you on speed dial. Or maybe you're looking for a job, with an eye for talent like that (from your couch) you could probably make some $$$ somewhere.. OR NOT. What planet are you from? #IllHangUpAndListen

You didn't offend me, it just irks me that you come in here with your balls'a swangin talking this and that when you are in no position to do so. If our staff feels like this kid deserves and offer that doesn't mean we are reaching out to kids who are "projects." It's more-so of a situation we didn't think we would be in with Franklin bolting to PSU. We need defensive tackles, and this kid is better than Mike Sawyers and has the stats to prove it. He is also good friends with Jalen Hurd which gives us another "in" if you will.. so that being said, why all the hate? Especially when it's unfounded and obviously completely biased?

Not that it matters because there are plenty of examples of 3 stars who turn out great, but Mathieu and RG3 were 4 stars recruits on Rivals.

"Based on the people I talked to this evening I'm told that he's all but a lock for Tennessee, assuming he's a take. I know there was some discussion earlier on the board from people who know him, etc, and I'm told that him being a lifelong Tennessee admirer is pretty accurate.

Tennessee wasn't interested early while Vanderbilt was and he jumped at the chance to commit there and bought in fully to the Franklin's sales pitch. Now that he's gone and Tennessee is hoping to add a d-lineman it seems like a good match.

The one wrench in the situation appears to be Michael Sawyers. His situation is really fluid right now with more offers coming in on a daily basis. UCLA and South Carolina both offered tonight, joining Oregon, Notre Dame and others in the past few days. He will likely visit on Jan. 31 before deciding on or around Signing Day.

If Robertson gives Tennessee the yes and it looks like Sawyers isn't a sure thing, I expect him to join the Vols 2014 class."
