Let's Talk About Sin

I look at it like this. Everyone is outside the city that God lives in. If you want to come inside and live you have some simple rules you must follow to get in.

1) admit that you have done wrong in the eyes of God
2) accept that Jesus paid for your wrong doings (nobody gets in without payment)
3) do your best not to sin anymore (repent)

There are many Christians who believe that everyone will be judged by God in the end for what they've done both good and bad. The difference being that there is no condemnation (being left outside) for those who trust in Christ.

As you have said with free will it's up to each person to decide for themselves. I believe to many going to Heaven would be Hell. IMO God does not seek slaves he seeks fellowship with children. imo that is the reason we were created, So we can choose......but that's a different thread alltogeather.

The judgment of God will be one thing. Does one have the seal of the lamb in their hearts. Has one received salvation. If so they will be set on the right and will enter the gates of heaven for eternity. For those that haven't, they have chosen to spend their afterlife in torment. It is a choice we all have to make, do we want to spend eternity in glory or torment.

I pray that those in denial of God, meets him and receives salvation before their judment day comes. If not they wlll open their eyes in a very bad place. They will remember these conversations on VolNation and will pray that they can go back and accept God as their saviour. It will be to late. Oh what a sad day that would be.

The judgment of Talos will be one thing. Does one have the heart of a Nord. Has one received his divine blessing? If so they will be set on the right and will enter the gates of Sovngarde for eternity. For those that haven't, they have chosen to spend their afterlife in torment. Fixed because I like Skyrim too much.

40 authors. I guess that the Qur'an is more true because of the number of authors. I'm pretty well read on the Nicean council. It seems you are not.

More true? No, I'm an equal opportunity atheist.

I thought everyone was born a sinner, thus the reason Jesus was born to a virgin?

no, a child is innocent. the age of knowing what a sin is, is what makes a child, teenager or a grown up a sinner. a person has to come under condemnation for sin to be a sinner.

all sin but those that have asked for forgiveness and accepted Christ as their savior are forgiven.

There are roughly 6 billion people on planet Earth. Of that, I'd say around 500 million claim Christianity as their religion of choice. And that is just who is living today. Matthew 7:13 states that "wide is the path, but narrow is the gate" so that means that only a very small percentage of those actually go to heaven.

That's the way it seems.

You're way off. Global Christianity – A Report on the Size and Distribution of the World

Your understanding of scripture is almost as lame as your views. Let me guess, you're either an atheist or agnostic.

That's kind of ****ty, no? That means that surely there are good, honest Christians who get left out to burn for eternity in hell!

Are you looking for a debate on what God should do or a reason why it will turn out that way using the Bible as my source?

Not being a smartass this time. Just wanting to give you a proper answer.

?? Wow. Your eisegesis is interesting to say the least.

Biblical answer.

Matthew 7:21-23
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness

Ok, so Jesus says there are a lot of people on the day of Judgemen who think feeding the poor, going to church, or saying they are Christian (ect) will get them in but it does not. Why? Because good works does not offset the sin you've (everyone, not just you) commited. None of the people in Christs example said they asked for forgiveness for their sins. They were all trying to earn their way in.

Eph 2 8-10
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— 9 not the result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.

*********
Salvation is by faith. Works are what we do because we are saved, not to get in.

It always shocks me how many people who call themselves Christian don't understand this simple concept.

And my answer.
There is no such thing as good honest people. They may put on a show but in the end everyone is bad.
As an example, I'm a small business man. I had a cousin of Reds working for me as a manager. He's a "church going good man" I fired him the week before Christmas for stealing from me and my clients. I was shocked when I figured out what was happening because he puts on a good show.

Nobody is truely "good"

*Red is my wife.
