Orangeslice13, a blessing to those around him…..Again

Tis a small world... my son has been in Coast guard for 14 yrs, (thus the Coastypop), he was in NY harbor during the attack during 911, and in New Orleans during Katrina. My dad was in WWII and landed at Normandy during first wave, then served rest of his time fighting with Patton.

Grandson has been in JROTC for four years in HS and has moved through ranks quickly... He plans on military first then college, unless he makes it a career like his Uncle

I know there are lots of options and opinions
If he's done JRTC in HS,
I would recommend him applying for a ROTC scholarship, for college...
They will pay full tuition, and depending on the school can pay for room, and board...I know Arkansas does this..
I went thru at UT, and I don't remember anyone getting their room and board covered then...

If he really wants a military career, this gives him the ability to have the Army pay for college, then when he gets to Active Duty...He's an Officer, and will make more money..

Good luck to him, and your other son in the Coast Guard

Thanks for the information :hi:...

we have applied at several places, UT has some but UT Chatt may be a better option for scholly for him ... there are some grade issues that must be overcome...and UT Chatt has more programs to help his learning disorders ... His mom was high a lot while she was carrying him and has affected him.

He will do well which ever direction he goes,Kid has a lot of determination and guts, rode bulls in youth rodeo up until this year

This is what my little brother in Cali is doing. No ROTC though. 4.0 GPA. Has schollys to several schools for academics.

He is in the delayed enrollment program to the United States Marine Corps. It's driving my step mom crazy. Lol.

I'm proud for him.

you should be it's a big commitment, and huge responsibility

P.nut lost last night 3-2.
The guy he wrestled was a junior who qualified for state last year.

Against middleschool comp he's 7-2
Vs highschool comp he's 0-4.
He's not a happy camper.
We were up at 530 lifting this morning.
