You must be kidding or you've just started following recruiting. The kid hasn't strung along anyone, he has explored his options and eliminated the ones that aren't best for him.

X1000, OP clearly hasnt been following recruiting for long. Malone's recruitment has been mild compared to most big-time players.

Quietly? This has been the most drawn-out, sensationalized recruiting that I have ever seen. Don't get me wrong, I want Malone just like everyone else as I believe that he's got all the tools necessary to be great on the field. I just don't believe in all this constant begging and pleading by multiple schools.

The kid and his family have visited 30+ schools, and have let all of these schools "court" them to some degree. Just being the type to "allow" all of this last-minute manipulation and persuasion just makes me leery about how much of a true Vol he will be if he commits. How much drama will come if things don't go his way?

Stay at home, make "your" state proud. If you're really that good, you'll be good anywhere you play.

It's just not that simple for everyone, which is fine. In the end, a decision will be made that he will have to live with for the rest of his life. Looking into everything with a fine toothed comb, although it may seem "sensationalized", is not a bad thing.

Heard on the radio from Woody Wommack that UT is selling Fergusson as our QB of the future. Woody seems to think that he is already the man to beat for the job. Would this be a good or bad thing for Malone?

It's what I've heard multiple times too "from others". He is supposed to be our qb of the future.

He's making a decision that will effect the rest of his life and could be worth potentially millions of dollars.

If I was in his situation, I would be doing the same thing. I would be doing my homework throughly. I would be seeing as many schools/programs/areas/coaches as possible to understand what they have to offer.

I've heard from several former players that he has looked like the leader of the two freshman from the beginning. I would love to see him come out next season and blow us all away with talent. Haha

Kid's talented, and has all the necessary tools to be great. He's come a LONG way since last year - there's no denying that. As long as he plays with heart and physicality, he'll be a tremendous college receiver wherever he goes.

Ferguson is the qb of the future until he actually plays a down and the shine wears off. Then it's onto the next backup. Oh wait, there won't be any left.

I don't think it matters. It should be more about where he feels comfortable. Ferguson or Watson have potential to be stars or busts at their respective schools. The future is uncertain but usually big time programs find a good QB and big time WRs are successful no matter where they are. See Calvin Johnson IE.

The kid and his family have visited 30+ schools,

When there are over 30 people in the world that want to reward me for my talents, then I will judge how an 18 year old behaves, till then I have to hope he makes the best decision for himself and his future.
If I am lucky that will be UT otherwise quit acting like its 1975 and these kids pick a school juts because its in their backyard.

Assuming he chooses the Vols, I wonder if Clemson will leak his choice and spoil his moment like North Carolina did to North.

It takes all kinds....

Sorry I'm just more partial to Vic, TK, Jalen, etc. that decided to be Vols, help build this class, and never waivered.

The most drawn out and sensationalized you have ever seen? You are aware that tons of kids wait until signing day to commit, correct?

The Nkemdiche recruiting was pretty crazy last year. This is just a part of what college football has become. I don't care what they do when they commit as long as when they get here they give it all they have got.

Malone, North,Pig,and Hurd would be a hell of a threat once they all develop a little more. luckily they are so talented you could see the results from them next yr. sucks waiting on the "process" for so long like we have, but you can def see it lining up for the future.

That's true but do they have thread with over 8000 post wondering where he's going. This size thread rivals the Gruden era.

Looking at his register date I take it that Vol74 wasn't here for Bryce Brown or Jesse Scroggins or Markeith Ambles or etc. To be honest Malone's recruitment, outside signing a financial agreement, has been pretty uneventful.
